is the nature of non-anger. The nature of diligence is being faultless. Samadhi is the nature of single-mindedly gathering virtuous dharmas. Wisdom is the nature of not clinging to any dharma as true. Because it is so, the nature of the six perfections is these, as stated in the sutras. The self-nature of samadhi and so on exists. Samadhi and so on, as well as the immeasurable, and similarly any other formless attainments, are said by the perfectly enlightened Buddha to be of an unwavering nature. The thirty-seven factors of enlightenment are of the nature of necessarily bringing about emergence. The nature of the door of liberation, emptiness, is that because there is no clinging to the object of the clinging to reality, it is of an extremely peaceful nature. The nature of the door of liberation, signlessness, is the nature of the pacification of the clinging to the object of the clinging to signs. The nature of the third door of liberation, wishlessness, is that having completely known the suffering of conditioned existence, seeing it as suffering, and not desiring the perfection of existence, it is the nature of non-ignorance. The nature of liberation is that it liberates from the obscurations of meditative absorption. Thirdly, from the powers to equanimity, each has its own nature. As will be explained, the powers of the Buddha are said to be of the nature of thoroughly determining. The fearlessness of protection is of the nature of being extremely firm, and the individual perfect knowledges are of the nature of being without interruption of pride and so on. What is called great love is of the nature of accomplishing benefit for beings. Great compassion is of the nature of protecting suffering beings. Great joy is of the nature of extreme joy. Great equanimity is to be known as the nature of not being mixed with attachment and aversion. The eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha, whichever one considers, are of the nature of not being taken away by others. For what reason? Because the teacher does not
