It is also not inherently existent, nor is it inherently dependent on its own parts, and the parts are not inherently dependent on the chariot. The mere collection of parts is not a chariot, and the mere shape is not a chariot, but just as it is possible to designate a chariot. It is for the purpose of combining the self and the aggregates. The second has two parts: the main text and the transfer of reasoning to other aspects. The first has two parts: refuting the view that the collection is a chariot, and refuting the view that the mere shape is a chariot. First: If it is thought that the mere collection of the parts of a chariot is a chariot, that is unreasonable. If the collection of parts becomes a chariot, then when the chariot is dismantled, the parts exist separately, and there should also be a chariot. Because at that time, although there is a difference, there is only a collection. The mere shape of the collection of the parts of a chariot is also not a valid reason for being a chariot, because there is no chariot with parts that is not merely a collection of chariots. The subject is correct. The pervasion: if there is no possessor of parts, then the parts also do not exist. Here, those lower schools of our own tradition consider the chariot to be the possessor of parts, and the other parts of the chariot to be its parts, but here, if there is no possessor of parts, then the parts also do not exist, and the necessity of this assertion is that, according to our own system, each part of the chariot and the collection of parts are both considered parts, while those schools consider the collection of parts of the chariot itself to be the possessor of parts, and say that there is no chariot with parts that is not like that. Second: Furthermore, if you think that the mere shape of a chariot is a chariot, then is that shape of each part, or of the collection? If according to the first case, is it without changing the difference in shape before it was assembled? Or is it with changing the difference? If according to the first case, then, according to your view, how is the shape of each part of the chariot, such as the wheel, when it was not assembled before, and later when it is assembled, it belongs to the chariot, that is, when it is established, it exists as before? Just as those parts that became different when they were not assembled are not chariots, so the parts are assembled.

Therefore, the chariot is not existent, because you think so. If you say it's like the second case? That's also unreasonable. If now, when the chariot has been established, the spokes and so on, as the various components of the chariot, have different shapes, some long and some round, etc., if they exist arbitrarily, then this must be able to be grasped by eye consciousness. However, that is not existent. The mere shape of the chariot is not the chariot, because neither the assembled nor the unassembled collection is the chariot. If you say that the particular shape of the combination of components is regarded as the chariot, that is also unreasonable. Why? According to your view, the collection is not a substance at all, so that shape is not established by relying on the basis of imputation of the collection of components, because you admit that the collection of components is nominally existent, and you admit that the nominally existent depends on the substantially existent. If the shape of the chariot is not imputed to its own components, then relying on something where no collection can be established as an independent substance, in this case, how could it become a shape that is regarded as a chariot? It will not become. Therefore, what you admit, that the basis of the nominally existent particularity is substantially existent, is unreasonable. Furthermore, the color of the chariot itself should also be the chariot, because its shape is the chariot. If you agree, then the color of a person should also be a person. The second case is: someone says that even if the collection is not real, it will become a nominally existent shape. According to our view, relying on unreal causes such as ignorance and seeds, all appearances of unreal nature, such as the karma of actions and the sprout-like fruits, are also said to arise, and you should understand it that way, which is reasonable. According to your view, relying on the nominally existent collection to establish the nominally existent shape, this is reasonable as you wish. Many other schools say that the collection of the shape of the vase, where eight kinds of dust-like substances such as form adhere to each other in that way, will give rise to the cognition of the vase, which is also unreasonable.
