Moreover, the later memory and the prior cognition are unrelated others, because they are self-established others. This is universal. For example, latent consciousness is like the arising of a continuum of loving-kindness that the consciousness of loving-kindness had not previously known, i.e., had not experienced. Someone might say that these two are not the same, because the former belongs to the same continuum, while the latter belongs to different continua. But this is also unreasonable, because the reason of knowledge, being a self-established other, also destroys the differences such as belonging to the same continuum and cause and effect, as stated in the context of "loving-kindness depends on latency," etc. The second part is divided into two points: the meaning of the words and the general meaning. The first point is: If, like you, you do not admit self-awareness, then how does memory arise? Our view is that even without self-awareness, the arising of memory is reasonable. What is the reason? Because the sensory consciousness, like prior cognition, in whatever way it experiences an object, the memory consciousness that arises from it is, for me, a Madhyamika, different in nature. Therefore, the prior consciousness together with the experience of the object, the later memory consciousness is also the same. Therefore, the memory of "I have seen this before" will arise. Because it does not seek the imputed meaning, this way of remembering is also the custom of the world. The second point is: Even if the prior cognition does not have the experiencer's self-awareness, it is not contradictory to generate the memory of "I think I have seen blue before" with the object as the object, because the prior cognition and the memory consciousness are not self-established and independent of each other, but have established a connection of the same continuum, and the object of the prior cognition, blue, and the object of the memory consciousness, blue, are the same object. Moreover, although the prior cognition is not me, it is part of me, so the prior cognition has seen blue, so it is reasonable to generate the memory of "I think I have seen blue before." Even so, the memory of "the blue that was established at the time of prior cognition is also established at the time of memory consciousness" will not arise, because the two times are different. Furthermore, even if there is no experiencer's self-awareness at the time of prior cognition, it is reasonable to generate the memory of "I think I have seen blue cloth" later, and there are examples of this.

Eh! In winter, when bitten by a poisonous mouse, the poison enters the body, and in spring, when the sound of thunder is heard, it flares up. It's like having the memory of the poison entering the body when bitten by a mouse, even though the mouse bite hasn't healed. Therefore, it is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: If there is no self-awareness, how can consciousness have memory? From other experiences and explanations, memory is like the poison of a mouse. Because it is said that way. There is a similar way of combining things: seeing blue when apprehending blue, and being bitten by a mouse in winter, these two are similar. When apprehending blue, there is no experiencing self-awareness in the apprehension of blue, and not experiencing the poison entering the body when bitten by a mouse, these two are similar. Not abandoning the apprehension of blue, yet having the memory of seeing blue, and the mouse bite not healing, yet having the memory of not experiencing the poison entering the body, these two are similar. To these, someone might say: According to the Prasangika view, even without self-awareness, one must accept sense consciousness and mental consciousness, etc. If these are also self-established, then it contradicts the negation of self-awareness. If experienced by another experiencer, then the experiencers would become endless, and this harm is the same for you. If you say so. There are two answers to this: the actual answer, and incidentally explaining the classification of pramana ( प्रमाण ). The first is: it won't become that fault, because here the number of pramanas is determined by the number of objects to be measured, and the pramana is also established by the way the object to be measured appears, and apart from that, no other establisher, such as self-awareness, is needed. The reason is that the Tika Chenmo says: The determination of the number of pramanas depends on the other of the object to be measured, and merely following the appearance of the object to be measured, one can find the pramana that exists on its own, and the self of these pramanas is determined in this way. Because it is said that way. Its meaning is not that apprehending blue establishes apprehending blue, but that apprehending blue measures blue, and by the power of that, the meaning is that the apprehension of blue is established as existing. The memory of apprehending blue recalls blue, and that memory does not rely on other pramanas, but guides by its own power. That memory merely cuts off the superimposition of blue and the apprehension of blue not existing, and turns the mind towards
