reason. Third, if the seed and sprout are other entities established by their own nature, then the two should not become cause and effect. If the sprout exists while the seed is cut off, then it is not like that. So, how is it? Knowable phenomena, when the sprout is produced, the seed is destroyed, that is, the fault of the continuation of its kind should not exist. What is the reason? Because the sprout is not another entity established by its own nature from its own seed, but its fruit is established in name. Also, when the sprout exists, it should not be said whether its seed exists or not, that is, it should not be said. What is the reason? Because the seed and the sprout do not exist at the same time. As it is said in the Extensive Play Sutra: "If the seed exists, the sprout is like this, whatever is the seed, the sprout is not that, other than that, there is also nothing, like this, neither continuous nor discontinuous, this is the constant principle of Dharma." Therefore, it is said that here when the sprout is born, the seed is not destroyed. The meaning of this sentence is the same as before, but not according to the literal meaning, because when the sprout is born, its own seed has already been destroyed, which has been said before. The example of seed and sprout shows that it is far away from the two extremes of permanence and annihilation, because the seed has not changed and has been transferred into a sprout, and the seed has disappeared when the sprout is born, so it is far away from the extreme of permanence. Without a seed, a sprout will not be produced, and it is explained that if there is a seed, a sprout will be produced, so it is far away from the extreme of annihilation. Fourth, there are two, refuting the idea that it exists by its own characteristics, and eliminating the debate about the refutation. First, there are three, the fault that the samadhi of the noble ones becomes the cause of the destruction of things, the fault that the conventional truth becomes analyzable by reason, and the refutation that the birth of the ultimate truth is not refuted. First, it is very reasonable to think that all dharmas are not established by their own characteristics. If things such as form are produced by relying on being established by their own characteristics, then the samadhi wisdom of the noble ones who realize the emptiness of emptiness, which is established by truth, should realize emptiness by negating the nature of things. Because things such as form are established by their own characteristics, but you realize that they are not established by their own characteristics.

. If that is the case, those things exist before meditative equipoise, because they are destroyed by non-existence at that time. It is unreasonable that things like form, etc., do not exist by their own characteristics. If they exist in that way, then the meditative wisdom that directly realizes emptiness should become the cause of the destruction of things, because that reason is not reasonable. The main proponent of this position is the Svatantrika, who, although they do not accept that there is wisdom that realizes that things are not established by their own nature, they do accept the wisdom that realizes that things are without inherent existence. Therefore, it is reasoned that such wisdom becomes the cause of the destruction of things. Therefore, although it is necessary to admit that wisdom is the cause of its destruction, it is not admitted, because it is Prasangika, so they will give an answer that is not pervasive, or give an answer that the sign is not established. Second, it is unreasonable that one should not analyze the truth of worldly conventions such as form, etc., with the reasoning that analyzes ultimate truth, that is, one should not analyze them. What is the reason? Because when one analyzes with reason whether these things such as form, etc., arise from themselves or from others, one cannot find existence such as arising that is established by its own nature in the other side other than things that are merely of their own nature, that is, things that do not arise ultimately. That is, if one analyzes with the reasoning that analyzes ultimate truth, one cannot endure analysis, so it means that one should not analyze. But this does not mean that one should not analyze with the reasoning that analyzes conventions, because one must accept analysis such as "Here it goes, here it stays," "I see this," "This exists." As it is said in the Refutation of Disputes: "If we do not accept conventions, we will not explain." Third, for things such as form, etc., as you say, the statement of arising by their own nature, by what valid cognition is the arising by their own nature established? It will not be established, which is unreasonable. Because it is unreasonable for things such as form, etc., to arise from themselves and others. Why? Because when analyzing ultimate truth, with whatever reasoning that has been said before, it is impossible to determine that it does not arise from both self and other.
