For example, just as someone with cataracts clings to illusions like hair, but the knowledge of someone without cataracts is not harmed by not seeing hair, etc. The third part has two aspects: explaining conventional truth and explaining ultimate truth. The first has two aspects: the meaning of the words and the general meaning. The first is: the ignorance of clinging to reality, which clings to forms etc. as real, is called conventional, because it obscures seeing the nature of how things truly exist. Just as clinging to reality does not establish forms etc. by their own nature, so whatever appears as real to sentient beings, who are transformed by it, is what the Thubpa (Buddha) called conventional truth, because conventional wisdom itself is true in the nature of clinging to reality, which clings to itself as true. From which sutra is it said? From the Lankavatara Sutra: "All things arise conventionally, in the ultimate sense there is no self-nature. Whatever delusion arises in the absence of self-nature, that is considered the correct convention." Therefore, conventional things like forms and sounds are not true for the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, Arhats, and Bodhisattvas who abide in pure lands in the post-meditation state, because they appear as artificial in name. The second part has two aspects: showing the differences between what is true and not true in the nature of forms etc., and explaining the establishment of obscurations in this system, which is not common to the Svatantrika school etc. The first is: all conventional dharmas such as forms have a reason to be called conventional truth, because the clinging to reality that clings to itself as true is conventional wisdom, and although you appear to be its nature, you are not established as true in reality, therefore it is explained in this way. Merely having a complete explanation of the words does not make it conventional truth, because ultimate truth also has that explanation of the words. Knowable things, in the nature of the wisdom that has just arisen from the samadhi of equanimity on emptiness, conventional dharmas are not true, because in its nature they are merely artificial conventions. Conventional dharmas each cling to themselves as true.

Although conventional truth is established due to the power of grasping at truth, grasping at truth does not establish conventional truth, because the meaning established by it does not exist even in name. It is like the first case, as stated in the "Self-Commentary": "Thus, for the time being, conventional truth is established by the power of afflicted ignorance included in the limb of existence." Therefore, Hearer, Solitary Realizer Arhats and Bodhisattvas abiding in pure lands, in the post-meditation state, although form and so on appear as true, they are not established as true, but are seen as like illusions, because they have completely abandoned the grasping at truth together with its seeds. As stated in the "Self-Commentary": "Moreover, for Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas who have abandoned afflicted ignorance, for those who see actions, images, and so on as similar to existence, it is a false nature, but not true, because there is no arrogance of appearing as true." Furthermore, form and other conventional phenomena are merely conventional in nature for the three types of individuals mentioned earlier, but it is not definite for all three types of individuals, because conventionality does not appear to those three types of individuals who are single-pointedly absorbed in Suchness. Saying "merely conventional" does not negate the meaning that conventionality is true, because it is to prevent grasping at true establishment. Furthermore, for ordinary beings, form and other conventional phenomena that appear to be truly established, in the nature of post-meditation wisdom arising from the samadhi of directly realizing emptiness, are conventional, and the emptiness of their nature is the ultimate truth for the noble ones who directly realize emptiness, as stated in the "Self-Commentary": "For beings, what is the ultimate truth is merely conventional for those noble ones who have objects of experience together with appearances, and what is the emptiness of its nature is their ultimate truth." The second part has three points: explaining the general arrangement of the two obscurations, explaining the unique arrangement of afflictions in this system, and explaining how the two obscurations are abandoned at which stage of the path. The first point
