Here, there is a reason for explaining the classification of the two truths, because in order to eliminate the harm of the world by refuting other-origination, and thereby to understand the classification of the two truths without error. It is necessary to understand the classification of the two truths, because if one does not understand it, one cannot understand the profound Suchness, and if one does not understand it, one cannot be liberated from samsara, because without relying on conventional truth, one cannot realize ultimate truth. Therefore, the Root Wisdom says: "Those who do not know, the distinction of these two truths, they cannot know, the profound reality of the Buddha's teaching. If one does not rely on convention, one cannot realize the ultimate meaning, and if one does not realize the ultimate meaning, one will not attain nirvana." Here it is also said, "Conventional truth becomes the means," and so on. The knowable is the basis for the classification of the two truths, as it is said in the Sutra of Meeting Father and Son: "The Tathagata has comprehended the two truths, conventional and ultimate, and what is to be known is also exhausted in these two truths, conventional and ultimate." This has a way of indicating how, because "what is to be known also" indicates the basis of classification, "exhausted in this" indicates the certainty of number, and "comprehended" indicates knowledge. The definition of ultimate truth is: whatever valid cognition you gain through, that, in relation to you, becomes the ultimate discriminating intellect, and the meaning gained is that. For example: a sprout is not established by its own nature. If divided extensively, there are sixteen emptinesses, and if condensed, they can be condensed into two: the subtle selflessness of persons and the subtle selflessness of phenomena, because the object of emptiness is determined to be persons and phenomena other than that. The definition of conventional truth is: whatever valid cognition you gain through, that, in relation to you, becomes the intellect that analyzes terms, and the meaning gained is that. For example: a sprout. Here, although the distinction between correct and incorrect is not made for conventional truth, the distinction between correct and incorrect can be made in relation to worldly consensus, because the sense consciousnesses and their objects, which are tainted by temporary causes of delusion, are, in relation to worldly consensus, mistaken in their objects and subjects.

The sense consciousnesses, along with their objects, that are not tainted by immediate delusion, in order to correctly explain the objects and subjects that are dependent on worldly cognition. Sprout, the nature of emptiness of ultimate truth, you have a reason to be called ultimate truth, because it is both meaning, sublime, and truth, therefore it is said so. The first reason is, because it is the meaning attained by the wisdom of meditative equipoise of the noble learner. The second reason is, because it is the sublime of reality. The third reason is, because appearance and reality are in accordance, it is a true and non-deceptive. Sprout, the dharma, you have a reason to be called conventional truth, because as it is said, it is true in the nature of the grasping of truth that grasps itself as true, but in reality it is false, therefore it is said so. The difference between truth and falsehood is reasonable, because if a dharma like a sprout is established as a false, deceptive dharma by complete exclusion, then it must exclude the acceptance of a non-deceptive dharma by complete separation. This is pervasive, because deception and non-deception are mutually contradictory. As it is said in the Madhyamaka Light: "If something is completely excluded, then what is not excluded, these two are the nature of existing in mutual exclusion." Although the sprout itself is emptiness of ultimate truth, if the sprout is determined, it is not necessarily determined that it is emptiness of ultimate truth, because if it is determined that the sprout is emptiness of ultimate truth, then the ultimate truth must be determined. The sprout can also be determined by the nominal measure that has not realized emptiness. Although the sprout is conventional truth, determining it does not mean that it is determined to be conventional truth, because if a person determines that the basis is conventional truth by measure, then the view of Madhyamaka must be obtained first. As it is said in the Commentary: "To attain that the basis is conventional truth by measure, it is necessary to determine that one has attained the view of Madhyamaka, because if the basis is established as conventional truth, it must be established as false, and to actually establish it as false, one must first exclude the truth of the basis by measure." The second part has three: word meaning, general meaning, marginal analysis. First, not only is the knowable divided into two truths, but the seen is also regarded as a false object.
