Because it is now said to be a negation of negation. Adding "non" there does not necessarily turn it into a negation of negation, because things like "non-self-origination" and "non-thing" are negations of existence. Thirdly, some say that it is unreasonable to use "that is not me" etc. to prevent the four extremes of origination, because it cannot prevent self-origination and other-origination. The reason is that both of these exist. The reason is that whatever self-origination exists, other-origination also exists. The first reason is that I am a thing. If you say that, because there are different meanings, it is not pervasive. The latter reason is that because one's own cause arises from elsewhere, it is not pervasive. Some say that "not from me" etc. are used to show the non-existence of the four extremes of origination as the point of attachment of the proposition, because the above proposition is reasonable. If you admit it, then it is unreasonable, because this is the reason for establishing self-naturelessness. If you say that, it is not pervasive. If it is not established, then the reason is that because self-origination, other-origination, and both origination, and origination that does not depend on cause do not exist, things are all devoid of self-nature. Someone retorted that this is unreasonable, because "not from me" etc. have said that the non-existence of the four extremes of origination cannot be used as a sign to establish self-naturelessness. The reason is that because the direct expression of this treatise does not allow that. If you say that, it is not pervasive. Some say that the proposition that the four extremes of origination do not exist is a negation of existence, because many treatises say so. If you say that, there is no fault, because this seems to refer to the point of attachment of the proposition. If it is not so, then the proposition of this kind of thought also becomes a negation of existence, but this cannot be admitted, because it is conditioned. Secondly, there are four proofs to show the proof established by reasoning: refuting self-origination, other-origination, both origination, and refuting causeless origination. The first has two: refuting with the reasoning of explaining the scriptures, and refuting with the reasoning of the root wisdom scriptures. The first has two: the statement of other sects of the explainer of the scriptures, and the meaning of the present. The first is that the explainer of the scriptures here is the commentator Buddhapālita, who is a disciple of Āryadeva, so his view should be explained. This has two: first is self-origination.

Refuting the views of others and refuting them. First, the externalist Samkhya school asserts that there are exactly twenty-five knowable entities, and that all of these have the same nature in the undivided state of the common principal. The twenty-five knowable entities are: As it says in their own treatise: "The root nature does not change, the great and other seven change in nature, the sixteen are changes, the purusha is not nature and does not change." The differences between these will be explained below. The common principal is, as it says in their treatise: "Because it possesses distinctions, because of following, because of entering through the door of ability, because there is a distinction between cause and effect, because the world is diverse without distinction, there is an unmanifest cause." That is, the three components of dust, darkness, and power are equal, and it is impossible for them to manifest at any time, so they are unmanifest. The reality of phenomena, from that state, various kinds of result-changing phenomena arise, like the rainbow in the sky. And it is believed that all of these have the same nature. That is, because many different causes and conditions jointly produce one result, if there is no nature or common principal that follows all of these, then the previous mode of production is unreasonable. What is the nature of the seed? Its cause is the nature of water and fertilizer. What is its nature? It is the nature of the sprout. The nature of the pot is the nature of the cloth. Its nature is the nature of the pot. It is only a different state. For the nature, there is not the slightest difference in parts, and it is called common, principal, and nature. The common principal is constant and real, and the changes are false, like illusions. The meaning of the sprout arising from itself is not the meaning of the sprout arising from itself, but it is believed that the nature of the earth and the sprout are interchangeable. Therefore, the sprout is established in its own causal period, but it has not been produced, so when it arises from that, it is considered to be produced after it has been established. Some believe that it has already been produced in its own causal period, but it exists in an unmanifest way, and it is revealed by conditions. There is a meaning that what has been established needs to be produced again, and what has been produced needs to be revealed again. In general, for what is knowable, there is nothing that does not
