I am talking about the arising of actions, and the ripening results from patience, such as beautiful appearance, etc., as well as the extremely subtle relationships between actions and results. What is manifest is that which can be ascertained by direct perception; what is slightly hidden is that which cannot be ascertained by valid cognition without relying on correct reasons; what is very hidden is that which must be ascertained by relying on scriptures that have been purified by the three examinations, and cannot be ascertained like the former two. Superimposition is to superimpose by grasping what is not inherently existent as existent; denial is like grasping what exists conventionally as non-existent. Moreover, there is no necessity to say "exists" or "does not exist" with words; it is established as long as there is such a grasping in the mind. Secondly, the ultimate reason for seeing your words, Teacher, as incomparable is precisely this path of dependent arising. Relying on this, the certainty arises that your other teachings, Teacher, have also become valid scriptures. As it is said in the Four Hundred Verses: "If one has doubts about what the Buddha has said that is hidden, having understood emptiness, one should have faith only in this." This means that, relying on the Sugata's scriptures that speak of emptiness of inherent existence as the meaning of dependent arising, and being certain that its teachings are not deceptive, one can also understand that other teachings, such as the arising of enjoyment through giving material things, and the achievement of higher realms through keeping moral discipline, also become valid scriptures. Valid scripture means correct teaching, that is, teaching that does not deceive in the meaning it explains. Here it is explained according to "relying on this path," but if it is according to "relying on this of this path" in the collected works, then "of" refers to the Teacher. Secondly, the Teacher, you see the meaning of reality as it is and speak well, and the disciple Arhat who follows you is far away from the arising of afflictions such as attachment, and the suffering and decline caused by them, that is, has abandoned them, for the reason that: because he has abandoned the root of all these faults, namely the co-emergent self-view that grasps things as inherently existent. That is to say, just as one says "far away,"

Just as it says in "Transformation of Power," if one obtains the word of transformation, it is not necessary to speak only to the Arhat. Furthermore, those non-Buddhists who turn away from your, the teacher's, teachings, even though they have long endured hardship through severe asceticism for the sake of their own liberation, it is as if they are calling out, "May faults such as attachment gradually come upon our minds." Therefore, there is a reason why they cannot be liberated. This is because the root of faults, the innate and imputed clinging to a self, is very firm in their minds. Emaho, this is very wonderful. When a wise person who can distinguish between what to accept and reject well understands the difference between these two distinctions of whether faults can be reversed as previously explained, then, not just verbally, but from the depths of their bones, from the bottom of their heart, why would they not respect you, the teacher? They should respect you, and there is no reason not to respect you. That is to say, without partiality, do not think that your own teacher is the best and that other teachers and their followers are inferior, and do not generate faith or lack of faith. Instead, with an impartial mind, analyze the meaning of the doctrines they teach with correct reasoning. Through the power of determining that your own teacher's words are well-spoken and that the other's words are the opposite, respect or disrespect must arise. As it is said in the "Praise of the Excellent God": "I am not partial to the Buddha, nor do I hate the Tirthikas, etc., whoever has words endowed with reason, that one I hold as the teacher." And, "The tenets of the Tirthikas, however, however they are contemplated, thus, thus to the protector, my mind arises with faith." Just as it is said, it must be done that way, and it is also explained in the "Great Tantric Stages" and the "Illumination of the Path to Liberation." Third, what need is there to say that understanding the meaning of your, the teacher's, many scriptures bestows supreme bliss? Even just understanding the meaning of each part of your speech, even just a rough understanding, brings supreme bliss. Supreme bliss, I think, can also be understood as the bliss of definite goodness. Temporarily speaking
