The four teachings. The first of these four teachings is: The teacher who teaches to accomplish the temporary and ultimate benefit for beings, may his teachings last until the end of existence, that is, until the end of samsara. May the power of the evil thoughts of beings who are disrespectful, uncomprehending, and have wrong views not shake this teaching, and having understood that the essence of the teaching is to show dependent origination, may the faith that arises from this cause me to have trust in the teacher, and may I always be filled with this trust. The so-called "until the end of existence" is a prayer for the teachings to remain until the end of samsara. This is just a hypothetical limit. For example, as it is said, "How far is the end of the sky?" The power of combining evil thoughts with wind. The teaching is like combining with fire. As it says in the Abhidharmakosha, "Those who do not see the truth and act arbitrarily, their evil thoughts disturb the teaching." Being filled with trust means not only having trust in the teacher for the right reasons, but also praying that this trust will continue to exist and grow. The so-called "also" means that the dedication is not limited to this. The second is: Relying on the very thing that arises, that is, the nature of dependent origination, whose nature is the meaning of emptiness is clear, through teaching and spreading, may I, in all my lives, even giving up body and life, protect the excellent doctrine of the Able One, that is, both scripture and realization, not to mention a long time, may I not be negligent even for a moment. In the 'gsung 'bum', there is the saying "make clear", but here there is no word "sa", therefore, the excellent doctrine should be understood as the dependent origination of the Dharma is clear. The so-called "also" means not to mention giving up for small reasons, even if faced with danger to life, give up the body to protect the teaching. Not being negligent means not giving up diligence, and negligence is its opposite. The third is: The supreme guide, with the core of countless hardships such as giving up the body as mentioned before, diligently practiced, the essence of the accomplished teaching - the nature of dependent origination. May I spend my days and nights contemplating what kind of method will make it grow.

Thus it is said. Making diligence the essence means accomplishing through the six kinds of effort. The fourth is that with the pure superior intention of wanting to benefit oneself and others, when striving to uphold the essence of the teachings accomplished by the Buddha, Brahma and Indra with a thousand eyes, and the four great kings who protect the world, and furthermore, Gonpo Lekden Nagpo (Mahakala Kalarupa) and others, that is, Dharma King Vaishravana and other Dharma protectors, may they also help without negligence, not just for a short time, but constantly. Regarding Lekden Nagpo (Kalarupa), I think it refers to the six-armed Mahakala here. In the White Umbrella Sutra, regarding Lekden Nagpo (Kalarupa) among the three Lekdens (Good Abodes) mentioned, Khedrup Rinpoche said it is Gonpo Beng. Generally, dedication and aspiration are not contradictory, because taking the merit to be dedicated as the cause, aspiring to attain perfect enlightenment, it becomes both dedication and aspiration. In the author's colophon, the meaning of "Thus, the Buddha, the Bhagavan," etc., is easy to understand. Saying: Having completely gathered the wisdom of the king, becoming the essence of wisdom, most famous. With the firm wheel of Dharma, as the embodiment of man, may your lotus feet again be placed on my head. Your good words are like the bright sun, when the path of the Buddha's teachings opens wide, the boundless garden of scriptures and treatises flourishes, and at the same time, all wrong views close like water lilies. In particular, when the path of dependent arising is truly revealed, those shooting stars playing in the abyss of eternalism and nihilism are suppressed, and the Buddha's teachings clearly appear. In this way, inviting the great Buddha, loudly proclaiming the pleasing secret sound of dependent arising, making the hearts of many learned and talented ones filled with a supreme feast of joy. In explaining the intention of the venerable lama, if there is any mistake in this endeavor, I confess it here. The virtue gained from speaking truthfully is also dedicated to upholding all the Buddha's sacred Dharma. This was written at the urging of the wise monk Lobsang Norbu, by the Shakya monk named Shedrup, who holds the position of lama of both tantra and logic in Chone, having extracted only the main part from the extensive text.
