In order to thoroughly distinguish, the third is the eleven virtues, namely: faith, sense of shame, modesty, non-attachment, non-hatred, non-ignorance, diligence, great joy, caution, equanimity, and non-harming. These are transformed into virtues by turning away from their respective opposites, such as disbelief, etc. Therefore, eleven virtues are definitively established. However, having faith in demons, etc., which are not objects of faith, and striving in the direction of non-virtue are merely nominally established as faith and diligence, and are not the reality of the two, so it is necessary to distinguish them. The fourth is the six root afflictions, namely: the desire, anger, pride, ignorance, doubt, and views that arise in this way. These six are called root afflictions because they become the root of the near afflictions and existence in their respective ways. If it is desire and ignorance, it is not necessarily a root affliction, because these in the continuum of the noble ones are not root afflictions, because they are like poison destroyed by medicine and mantras, and their power is weak. The fifth is the twenty near afflictions: anger, resentment, concealment, vexation, jealousy, stinginess, deceit, flattery, arrogance, harm, shamelessness, immodesty, lethargy, excitement, disbelief, laziness, carelessness, forgetfulness, non- vigilance, and distraction. These twenty are called near afflictions because they arise from their own cause, the root afflictions, and are close to it. The sixth is the mutable, namely: sleep, regret, investigation, and analysis. These four can be transformed into the three: virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral, so they are called that way. Because during sleep, faith and disbelief in the Three Jewels, and regret and non-regret for good and evil, etc., can be transformed in this way. Secondly, there are two ways of explaining the Abhidharmakosha, namely: divided into definite and indefinite. The first has five, namely: the all-pervasive mental factors, the all-pervasive virtuous factors, the all-pervasive afflictive factors, the all-pervasive non-virtuous factors, and the all-pervasive minor afflictive factors. The first has ten, as the Abhidharmakosha says: feeling, thought, perception, desire, intelligence, wisdom, memory, attention, conviction, and samadhi, in all minds. They exist as stated. Ten
