One should believe that these are obvious facts. Secondly, begin with paying homage with Pāda-vandanā (reverence to the feet), and offer with water two (chu gnyis) preceding. Confess sins with one verse such as "Helpless I." Then, with one verse rejoice in virtue, with two verses such as "Ten directions" urge the turning of the wheel of Dharma, request to remain without passing into sorrow, and with the remaining verses dedicate the virtue to perfect enlightenment, these are the limbs. In short, accumulate the seven-limbed assembly. If elaborate, then take the vows of the five families with "All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas," etc. The Great Paṇchen Rinpoche said that if abbreviated, it is fine not to do so. Meditate on the four immeasurables mingling with one's own mindstream with "May all sentient beings have happiness," etc. Thirdly, the general ritual for binding and releasing mudras is: Turn both of your palms upwards. As it says, "In both palms, a moon mandala from A A," etc. Visualize a white A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: None) in each of the two palms, and that it completely transforms into a moon mandala. In the center of the moon in the right hand, visualize a blue syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hūṃ), and in the center of the left hand, visualize a white syllable Āḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Devanagari: आः, Romanized Sanskrit: āḥ, Literal meaning: Āḥ) suddenly appearing. Visualize sixteen vowels such as A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: None), Ā (Tibetan: ཨཱ, Devanagari: आ, Romanized Sanskrit: ā, Literal meaning: Ah), etc., arranged upwards in two circles around each of them, blazing with light. Polish your fingers like polishing a mirror until they are very clear, and visualize the seed syllables of the five families, such as white Oṃ (Tibetan: ༀ, Devanagari: ओ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal meaning: Om) on the two thumbs. When these are completely transformed, on the surface of the fingers of the right hand, visualize the five clear syllables, the five families such as Vairocana, etc., and the syllables of the left hand, in order, visualize as the nature of eyes, etc., the five consorts such as Vajradhātvīśvarī, etc. Also, these deities should be visualized as reflections appearing in a mirror. Visualizing one A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: None) in each of the two palms represents that all conventional dharmas appear like illusions. The Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hūṃ) in the center of it represents the aspect of method, and the Āḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Devanagari: आः, Romanized Sanskrit: āḥ, Literal meaning: Ah) represents the aspect of wisdom. The vowels of the right hand represent the sixteen divisions of the wisdom that realizes the sixteen emptinesses, and the vowels of the left hand represent the sixteen divisions that exist from the basis of emptiness in that object of emptiness. Generating the five families of fathers and mothers in the fingers is for

It symbolizes the appearance of the grasping aspects of each limb as divine forms. With the two palms slightly apart, contemplate the deities facing each other. Recite "Om Anyaonya" etc. With "Para Sphara" etc., make the vajra hand gesture and contemplate the father and mother deities as flames from a single lamp. Although they appear as two, their positions are intertwined. With "Atanta" etc., contemplate the deities becoming completely mixed with each other, without any difference in clothing or form. The meaning of these symbols is: The five families of father and mother Buddhas facing each other symbolize the state in the path of learning where the object and subject, the two minds, appear separately in opposition to each other. Merely intertwining the positions symbolizes that in that state, although the dualistic appearance has not disappeared in emptiness, it is tending towards disappearance. Complete mixing without separation symbolizes that in that state, the dualistic appearance of object and subject has disappeared in emptiness. When reciting "Vajra Bandha Trat," contemplate cutting and tearing apart all the afflictions of the three realms. Tear apart with the vajra binding mudra and sound. This symbolizes that the afflictions manifested in the three realms are destroyed and torn apart by the wisdom of the learner who directly realizes emptiness. Contemplate descending the vajra and binding its seal, reciting "Vajra Abesha Ah Ah." Contemplate that from the hearts of all the Tathagatas, immeasurable wisdom arises in the form of a five-pronged vajra, red in color, blazing with red light. Entering one's own heart, it fills one's entire body. With "Tishta Vajra Dhi Dho" etc., contemplate that the wisdom being previously descended has become stable. With "Vajra Mushti," the stable wisdom is also bound indivisibly. With "Mushti Va Ma," the binding is to be released. Its symbolic meaning is: Absorption symbolizes the arising of wisdom in one's own continuum that directly destroys obscurations. Stability symbolizes that the wisdom becomes familiar in the continuum. Binding symbolizes that whatever mudra is bound is accomplished, and that one practices the path of the five manifest enlightenments. Knowing the mudra is like subjects not being able to disobey the king's command, the deities also cannot go beyond what has been sealed. Fourth, combining with the Dharma, that is, what previously existed.
