Or are the empowerments, etc., as before? If it is very brief, then it should be done only with mantras. For all of these, the mudras should be held. When making the disciple visualize as the deity, offer with coquetry, etc. After empowering in this way, the function that is established is: with the previous flower garland empowerment, one knows which deity's family the disciple belongs to; here, with the water empowerment, one establishes the function of purifying the stains of obscuration. Similarly, when one becomes enlightened with the crown, one accomplishes its family lord and ushnisha, and the five wisdoms of the Buddha with the mudras of the five families, and the speech of the Buddha with the mudras of the five mothers, and with the name empowerment, one establishes the function of making the name of that Buddha a definite name. The second is the Acharya empowerment: In the east of the mandala, on the bathing mandala that has the characteristics of being called a bathing mandala, etc., the disciple is visualized as Vajrasattva, and offerings such as close use are made and auspicious words are spoken. Then, the main content of the Vajra Acharya empowerment, the three samayas, should be given: with "without beginning or end," etc., the vajra is given, with "this is the Buddha," etc., the bell is given, and with "white Vajrasattva," etc., the disciple is made to practice visualizing as Vajrasattva, and these three, the mudra samaya, are given. Thus, the body is the mudra samaya, the speech is the fruit samaya, and the mind is the vajra samaya. The four activities empowerment is: vajra crossed scepter, etc., and the main thing of the activities is the wheel of dharma, so first the wheel, conch, book, bell, etc., should be done according to the extensive or concise situation. The subsequent permission lord empowerment of each of the Dharma teachings is: the five family lords, etc. The secret empowerment is: empowering with the mudras of the five families, etc. Doing it in that order is very related, but it is not certain, because it is said that the ten empowerments can be given at will, so it can be done in any order. Giving the three samayas is the main content of the Acharya empowerment, but it is not included in the number of the ten empowerments called ten, because after that, it is specifically stated that the vajra bell is given in the hand. Then there is pure mindfulness: with "the nature of the mandala," etc., one remembers the purity of the mandala, and the nature of the deity.

Now, the ways of remembering purification are explained. The way of remembering is: the appearance of a square mandala symbolizes that the mind of the Buddha equally enters all sentient beings, and there is no concept of inequality such as closeness or distance, high or low. Similarly, others should also be understood according to the meaning of the ritual. In short, one should strongly believe that the non-dual wisdom of the Buddha appears on that support and supported, and it is not something else like the ordinary world of vessel and essence. Third, the marginal supports of those are three: the seven precious things, the samaya, and the empowerment of the command activity. The first is: hand seals such as the wheel, or holding the images of those, reciting the single mantra of Om Tsa Kra Ratna Om Tsa Kra Ratna), etc., or in detail, according to the text, verses and mantras made of divine objects, etc., can be simplified or elaborated as appropriate, which is said in the Great Commentary. Second, the empowerment of samaya and command is: from "Three Jewels" to "What need is there to mention those who have compassion" is the samaya, and the empowerment of command is given with Om Sarva Third, the empowerment of activity is: it is said in the Small Commentary that it is done with Om Sarva Karma Om Sarva Karma), etc., but it is not clear in the ritual. Then offer to the lama, and the lama also praises with "the happiness of this life," etc., and then makes a vow. Fourth, how to do the ritual of rescuing the deceased? In general, there are many, but if summarized here, there are three: the preliminary ritual of the south gate, the main practice of empowerment in the mandala, and then instructing the path, purification, etc. The first has three: summoning the consciousness of the deceased, then hooking and separating, blessing, purifying obstacles and defilements, and instructing refuge. The first is, generating pride with Vajradhara, etc., and praying with "I, named so-and-so," etc., which is said in the Great Commentary, but this seems to be necessary only at the time of empowerment. The south gate is also applicable to the living, but if it is done for the deceased here, although the word "south gate" has many different meanings, it can be understood as making a square platform in the direction of the south gate of the mandala, smearing it with five cow dung and sandalwood, etc., and then drawing an eight-spoked wheel in the center of an eight-petaled white lotus on it.
