I, since there is no other "I" different from this, one should think: I am not established by nature. As it says in the "Garland of Jewels": The person is not earth, not water, not fire, not wind, not space, not consciousness, not everything. What else is the person besides that? The person is a combination of six elements, therefore it is said to be not real. If the stream of aggregates is not me, then how can seeing the aggregates be considered seeing me? There is no fault. For example, my face, feet, hands, etc., are not me, but due to the connection, seeing them is seeing me, and when they are sick, I can also feel sick. Furthermore, I am not established by nature on my own aggregates, because if you search for it on your own aggregates using the sevenfold reasoning, you will not find it. It is not one that is inseparable from the aggregates, nor is it something separate in essence from the aggregates. It is not a support of the aggregates like yogurt in a container, nor does it rely on the aggregates from its own side like Devadatta relies on a reed. It is not different in essence like Devadatta possessing "me," nor is it one in essence with the aggregates like possessing ears. The collection of aggregates is also not me, and its shape should not be "me." For example, a chariot, if you search for it using the sevenfold reasoning, you will not find whether it is one with its parts or different. Thus it is taught. In the "Entering the Middle Way," it says: The chariot is different from its parts, not non-different, does not possess parts, does not reside in parts, is not a collection, and its shape is not the chariot. Thus it is said. Then, will I disappear? There is no fault. Because I am just a designation imputed based on the stream of aggregates, which is my basis of imputation, and that mere name is sufficient. Thus, having examined and examined, in the end, one should equally abide in emptiness, where there is no object of examination. Second, ascertain the selflessness of phenomena and practice it. Although there are many types of reasoning, contemplate in this way: Regarding one's own body, with the nature of innate clinging to truth, thinking that this body is not merely established on the collection of the five aggregates, etc., which are the basis of imputation, but is an independent, solid body that is completely unrelated to any of the five aggregates.

Appearing as truly established and clinging to the appearance is the way of clinging to the body as truly established. Refuting that it is established as it is clung to is: Is such a body established as one with its basis of imputation, the five aggregates, or is it established as different? First, it is not reasonable to be one, because if it is established as one with them on the five aggregates, it will become an inseparable one. Therefore, the bodies of the past, present, and future, and all the limbs will also become one. The possessor of limbs and the limbs will also become one. In that case, parts and whole, viewer and viewed, goer and going, cutter and cut, etc., will also become one. All actions and agents will also become one, which is not reasonable. As it says in the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds: 'If the taker and the taken are of one nature, then the agent and the action should also become one.' If it is not established as one with the collection of limbs, is it established as one with each individual limb? That is also not reasonable. In that case, just as there are five limbs, the body would also become five complete ones, or just as the body is one, the five limbs would also become one. If it is thought that it is established as different from them on top of them? Generally, it is different in name, but if it is different as the object clung to by self-grasping, it is not reasonable. If that were the case, it would become an unrelated difference, so after mentally separating the five limbs such as the head and the upper and lower parts, there would still have to be a whole body to be shown separately, but that is not the case. Because, if the nature of the part and the whole are different, there is no doubt that it will become truly established. Similarly, this can be applied to the limbs of the body and refuted. Then, the body will cease to exist? There is no fault, because the five aggregates etc. are the basis of imputation of the body, therefore, the body is considered to be a dependent designation imputed on them. For example, the mouth and bottom of a vase etc. are not the vase, but the vase is imputed and placed on them. Similarly, a chariot can also be examined and refuted in the same way as before, on the collection of limbs that are its basis of imputation, whether it is one with or different from those limbs, or it can be analyzed and refuted by the sevenfold reasoning. Furthermore, Mount Meru, houses, etc. are also the earth and stones that are their respective bases of imputation.
