Even though there are obscurations like clouds, the nature of the sky is to pervade all dharmas and all directions, possessing a nature without obscuration. Similarly, the emptiness that is the naturally pure nature of sentient beings' minds is also established merely as the negation of truly established objects of negation. Although it is temporarily obscured by impurities like clouds, its essence does not partake in the nature of impurity and exists at all times, before and after. As it says in the Ratnagotravibhāga: "As the sky pervades all, The nature of mind, the stainless realm, Likewise goes everywhere. It is the general characteristic, faults and, Ultimate qualities are all-pervasive, Forms are inferior, intermediate, and superior, Like the sky, faults are, Temporarily present, qualities are naturally present, As before, so after, It is the unchanging nature of things. As the sky goes everywhere, It is not stained by faults because it is subtle. Likewise, in all sentient beings, This nature is not stained." As it is said. In the Compendium Sutra, it also says: "The realm of space is in the eastern direction, and the southern direction, and likewise the western direction and the northern direction are limitless. It is also present in the worlds above and below and in the ten directions. There is no difference and no distinction. The Suchness of the past Thus-gone One, the Suchness of the future Thus-gone One, the Suchness of the present Thus-gone One, the Suchness of the Arhat, the Suchness of all dharmas, the Suchness of the Victorious One." And: "The Suchness of the world and the Arhat, the Suchness of the Solitary Buddha and the Bodhisattva, the oneness is devoid of substance and not other, it is Suchness." Thus, it is taught that the dharmadhātu of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, which is empty in nature, is of one essence. If one understands well that the Suchness of all dharmas is of one essence, but not one, then one can abandon many wrong views. Furthermore, just as the sky relies on wind, wind relies on water, and water relies on earth, but the sky does not rely on them, similarly, the mind is naturally pure, but due to improper attention, and the karma and afflictions that arise from it, and the aggregates and elements that arise from them, the nature of the mind, which is empty of truth, does not depend on them in a way that relies on them. As it says in the Ratnagotravibhāga: "Earth depends on water, water on wind, wind on

It abides thoroughly in the sky. The sky is wind and water, and does not abide in the earth element. Likewise, the aggregates, elements, and sense bases abide in karma and afflictions. Karma and afflictions are not in accordance with the proper way, they always abide in attention. Attention that is not in accordance with the proper way thoroughly abides in the purity of mind. The nature of mind, all phenomena, also do not abide anywhere. Thus it is said. Similarly, applying proper attention to the purity of mind, and from that, wisdom, and relying on that, how liberation and omniscience are achieved, should also be applied. Something like this is also stated in the Compendium Sutra, where it says: Wind relies on the sky, a mass of water relies on that, this great earth relies on that, beings rely on that. The cause of beings' actions is like that, consider this meaning of where the sky comes from. Thus it is said. It is also taught that the way all the Buddha's teachings are accomplished is similar to that. In the Root Tantra of Guhyasamaja it says: Bhagavan, where do all the Tathagatas' teachings abide, and from where do they arise? Glorious Vajrasattva replied: They arise from one's own body, speech, and mind. Bhagavan, all the Tathagatas asked: Where does the mind abide? He replied: It abides in the sky. They asked: Where does the sky abide? He replied: It does not abide anywhere. Thus it is said. The sky here refers to the naturally pure nature of mind. In the context of mantra, the generation of the four elements and the mandala of the dependent and the depended from emptiness also takes into account the key points mentioned earlier. In short, if all phenomena are analyzed in detail with the valid reasoning that examines ultimate meaning, and if the meaning of designation is sought, in the end, it will turn out like the sky, empty, without foundation or root, and nothing can be found. However, from emptiness, the way all the establishments of samsara and nirvana are justified is such that if one understands it, it is a very wonderful place. Ultimately, this also depends on a good understanding of the reasoning of the Middle Way. Although the mind is naturally empty, when the mind arises and ceases, the emptiness of the mind does not need to arise and cease. For example, when the container and its contents arise and cease, the sky does not need to arise and cease.
