When blue is cognized, the valid cognition of blue is also pervaded by being cognized by the self-awareness of self-experience. When the valid cognition of blue is cognized by the self-awareness of self-experience, then blue is also pervaded by being cognized by the valid cognition of blue. At that time, these two are the same entity. If the valid cognition of blue appears as if blue exists in a distant manner, then these two would become different entities, and therefore would not be cognized simultaneously. If there is no external object, then what is it that the sense consciousnesses of us ordinary beings perceive as forms, sounds, etc., in a distant manner, as different entities cognizing forms, appearing as external objects? The Mind-Only school asserts that this is the manifestation of the ripening of the habit of the appearance of external objects placed on the alaya consciousness. Moreover, it is because of the power of habits familiar from beginningless time that everything appears in this way to conceptual thought. As it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: Just like a well-drawn picture, there is no high or low, but the way it appears is the same. In non-real conceptual thought, at all times, even if there are no two, it always appears. Therefore, here, even if there is no external object, it is necessary to explain in detail how action and function are established, but if there is an external object, there is a fear that it will become too much. If you are a wise person who can understand the Mind-Only school's view, then you should understand well the meaning of those things that have been said before. The emptiness of the Mind-Only school, which is established by reasoning, that is, the emptiness of being empty of external objects, must be admitted in the case of both the Consequentialist and Autonomist schools, as well as in the context of Tantra, as said by Je Yabse. It is also admitted in the context of Highest Yoga Tantra, as it is said in the Root Tantra of Guhyasamaja: Abandoning the grasped and the grasper. Sanskrit Romanization: grāhyagrāhakanirmukta, Literal Chinese meaning: Abandoning the grasped and the grasper). It is also said in the Clear Lamp of the Five Stages: In the union of bliss and emptiness, at least one must well ascertain the emptiness of the Mind-Only school's view of the emptiness of the difference between the grasper and the grasped. Therefore, the fourth is divided into two parts: the Autonomist Madhyamaka and the Consequentialist's view. First, how the selflessness of persons exists according to this school has already been said before. Regarding the way to establish the selflessness of phenomena, first, the object to be negated and the clinging to truth that grasps it must be identified. That is, the Consequentialist school believes that the objects clung to by the forms, sounds, etc., in the continuum of ordinary beings

For those things that are in accordance with the mind right now, objects, forms, sounds, etc., appear to be established by their own characteristics, but they are not established as they appear. Therefore, they consider these things to be mistaken in the realm of appearance. However, the Svatantrika school believes that these things appear in that way to the mind and are established as they appear. Therefore, they believe that there is no mistake in the realm of appearance. Thus, the difference between what is negated by the Prasangika and Svatantrika schools is very subtle and gross. Therefore, according to this school's view, all phenomena are considered to be merely established by the power of appearance to the mind that is in accordance with it or harmless. Therefore, it is not merely established by the power of appearance to the harmless mind, but rather established from the perspective of the object's own way of abiding, which is the object of negation of the sign. If something established in that way were to occur, it would become truly established, ultimately established, and so on. Therefore, clinging to something established in that way is considered to be innate clinging to truth, and it is believed that clinging to truth pervades the obscuration of knowledge. The Prasangika school believes that all phenomena can be established merely by the power of the mind that names and designates. However, this school believes that it is not possible to do so merely in that way, but rather it is necessary to establish them by the power of appearance to the sense consciousnesses, etc., that are free from the harm of immediate causes of confusion. Therefore, the way of establishing them is very different. The way of establishing things by the power of appearance to the mind, Commentary on the Engaging [in the Bodhisattva's Deeds]. Distinguishing the Definitive and the Interpretive. Summarizing the views of the three emptinesses, and explaining them from the perspective of examples. For example, when a magician transforms pebbles and twigs into horses, cattle, etc., there are three ways of appearing: the magician himself sees the basis as horses and cattle, but has no attachment; the spectators whose eyes are deceived by mantras and substances see it as horses and cattle, and have both appearance and attachment; the spectators who arrive later and whose eyes are not deceived have neither appearance nor attachment. At that time, although the basis of transformation appears as horses, cattle, etc., that appearance, if it is like the magician's, is not from the perspective of the object's own way of abiding, but rather by the power of the mind deceived by mantras and substances; if it is like the spectators whose eyes are deceived, then they believe that it is not established by the power of appearance to the mind, but rather that the way of abiding of horses and cattle exists from the object's own side. If we apply that example to the meaning, just as the spectators whose eyes are deceived see the magical horses and cattle, so too, when these phenomena appear to ordinary sentient beings whose minds are deceived by ignorance, they are established by the power of appearance to the mind.
