Furthermore, the solar disc is made of fire crystal and is fifty-one yojanas in breadth. The shape of both is like a mandala, and the height is six and one-eighteenth yojanas. Regarding this, the shape of the earth plate is said to be slightly different. Second, as it says in the Treasury of Knowledge: "At midnight the sun sets, and the sun is half and the time of rising is the same." As in the time of the equinoxes when day and night are equal, when the solar disc aligns with the center of Jambudvipa, it is midnight in the north, the sun sets in the east, the sun is halfway in the south, and the sun rises in the west, these three situations occur simultaneously. However, it seems common to think that this happens in all four seasons, only at the time of the equinoxes when day and night are equal, and every single day. This is considered from the perspective of the time of appearance in the four continents. If considered from the perspective of a single day, when the sun and its rays shine on this continent in some way, the term 'day' arises here, and when the sun approaches the back of Mount Meru and the shadow falls here, the term 'night' is used. Further research is still needed. Third, some argue that there is only one season at a time in the four continents, such as winter, meaning there are only four winters, not four seasons simultaneously. This is because when Jambudvipa is in winter, the other three continents are also only in winter. According to our own view, there are three general statements, explaining in detail the brief differences between day and night, and the reasons for the changes in the length of the sun in summer and winter. First, the four seasons in the four continents exist in a circular manner in a clockwise direction. When Jambudvipa starts from the east and the summer with the longest day ends, the east is the autumn equinox, the north is the winter with the shortest day ending, and the west is the spring equinox, these situations exist simultaneously. Because summer is followed by autumn, autumn is followed by winter, winter is followed by spring, and spring is followed by summer, these seasons occur sequentially in the four continents in a clockwise direction. Second, roughly calculating, when the longest day in Jambudvipa is eighteen yudzamas and the night is twelve yudzamas, the north is the time of the shortest day, so the day is

There are twelve months, and the night has eighteen "yud tsam" (a unit of time). The duration of the night here is equivalent to the day in the north, and the duration of the day here is in the night time in the north. At that time, the east is autumn and the west is spring, with equal day and night. In the east, the autumn day and night are equal to fifteen "yud tsam," which, when converted to hours, is thirty minutes each. Similarly, the spring equinox in the west is achieved as before. Some scholars believe that when the autumn day and night are equal in the east, there are nine "yud tsam" in the afternoon, and similarly, there are nine "yud tsam" in the morning of Jambudvipa (the earth). Therefore, the afternoon in the east and the morning in Jambudvipa have the same duration. Although it seems possible to connect it with other continents, the wise and accomplished Norzang Gyatso has clearly forbidden it in the oral transmission supplement, so for the time being, we should remain neutral. Some scholars think that the four seasons rotate counterclockwise, but I think clockwise rotation is reasonable. Third, regarding the reason for the change in the length of the sun, many scholars believe that when the sun moves north, it moves slowly because there is no additional wind to propel it beyond its own wind. When moving south, the sun moves faster than before due to the addition of the violent iron mountain wind that exceeds its own wind. However, I think this is logically harmful. For example, as far as a day is concerned, it is said that a day must have sixty units of time, no more and no less. If the sun does not move autonomously, but depends on the propelling force of the iron mountain wind, then this is not the case, and the length of the day will be more or less than sixty units of time. In this way, the day, month, and year will be wrong, and if they are wrong, all seasons will be wrong, so it is difficult to determine and needs to be examined. So, how should it be understood? In this regard, the wise and accomplished Norzang Gyatso said in the "Lamp Illuminating the Oral Transmission Supplement of the Kalachakra": "Since there is no difference in the speed of the sun's disc, it is established that there is a difference between the east and west rising places and the east and west setting places of the sun." The reason for this is that the beginning of the morning in various places occurs at different times.
