P. It eliminates the conceptualizations that cling to the non-existence of a path to liberation where suffering is completely exhausted. Sixth, regarding the meaning of the term: If asked, what is the reason for calling these four the Noble Truths? Answer: There is a reason. It is because they are true as seen by the noble ones, and not untrue as grasped by ordinary beings. That is why they are called so. As stated in the commentary on the Treasury of Knowledge: "The noble ones know and see the meaning of truth as it is, and practice it accordingly, while ordinary beings do not know or see it. Therefore, it is called the Noble Truth." This is why it is said so. Seventh, regarding the necessity: It is necessary to know the nature of the Four Truths. As stated in the Lamrim: "Thus, the Four Truths are repeatedly taught in both the Great and Small Vehicles, and the key points of entering and reversing samsara are summarized by the Sugata. Therefore, it is extremely important for achieving liberation, and it is also the key to practice. Therefore, disciples should be guided in that order." Also, as stated in the practice song: "If you do not strive to contemplate the faults of the truth of suffering, the desire for liberation will not arise as it should. If you do not contemplate the order of entering samsara through the truth of origin, you will not know how to cut the root of samsara. Therefore, it is precious to cultivate renunciation and weariness from existence, and to know what binds you in samsara." This is why it is said so. Second, explaining the nature of the twelve links of dependent origination, in seven parts: general characteristics, individual distinctions, collection, function, completion in the time of life, method of contemplation, and benefits of contemplation. First, the general characteristics: As stated in the Salu Ljangpa Sutra: "Monks, whoever sees dependent origination sees the Dharma." From "This arising, that arises; this ceasing, that ceases. For example, due to ignorance, actions; due to actions, consciousness," etc., the meaning shown is explained in detail in the Sutra on Dependent Origination and its commentaries. The direct teaching of these sutras and commentaries is: In terms of aggregated dependent origination, it generally relies on and is established. It is the characteristic of dependent origination. Relying on its own causes and conditions and being established is the characteristic of aggregated dependent origination. Second, if it is classified, there are twelve aspects, from ignorance to old age and death.

Because there are twelve links. First, generally, ignorance is divided into two types: ignorance of the law of cause and effect and ignorance of suchness. The former accumulates karma that throws one into the lower realms, while the latter accumulates karma that throws one into both the higher and lower realms. Ignorance that is ignorant of the meaning of suchness, according to both Prasangika and Svatantrika, refers to all grasping at truth. However, Prasangika believes that if it is grasping at truth, then it must be ignorance. Svatantrika does not think so. According to the Svatantrika and lower schools, all conceptualizations that grasp the person as an independent and self-sufficient entity are ignorance. Therefore, Prasangika and Svatantrika differ in how they recognize the root of samsara. In any case, they both agree that such ignorance in the continuum of ordinary beings, which is ignorant of the meaning of suchness of selflessness, is considered the root of samsara. Therefore, the initial ignorance of the twelve links is also ignorance of the suchness of selflessness. It is said that this ignorance has both imputed and innate aspects. However, in the continuum of the noble ones, there is no ignorance that is the beginning of the twelve links. Most scholars believe that in the ignorance of intention that is the cause of action, there cannot be ignorance of the law of cause and effect, but it exists in the intention of time. Second, action is karma. It is divided into three types: non-meritorious actions that throw one into the lower realms, meritorious actions that throw one into the desire realm's higher realms, and unwavering actions that throw one into the higher realms. Third, consciousness. Although the sutras speak of the six consciousnesses, here it mainly refers to mental consciousness. For it, whether it is the habits instilled by accumulating virtuous or non-virtuous actions, the consciousness of this life is the consciousness of the causal time. When it takes rebirth in the next life, it becomes the consciousness of the result time. Therefore, both are counted as the dependent origination of consciousness. Fourth, the name in name and form refers to feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness, which are the four immaterial aggregates. Form refers to curds, etc. Born in the formless realm
