Moreover, there are also instances of experiencing the results in future lives. As stated in the commentary on the Abhidharmakosha, "Although there are karmas that ripen into experiences in future lives, namely, the karma to be experienced in this very life, this name is established due to the differences in the act of creation." Therefore, there is a basis for karma that ripens into experiences in this very life. The ripening of the effects of benefiting or harming those who have newly attained the path of seeing and Arhatship, as well as those who have cultivated cessation samadhi and immeasurable loving-kindness, or those who have just arisen from samadhi free from afflictions, will immediately ripen in this very life. As the Abhidharmakosha states: "For those who have attained the path of seeing and Arhatship, benefiting or harming them, the result will be experienced immediately." And, "For those who have arisen from cessation, loving-kindness, and non-affliction, benefiting or harming them, the result will be experienced immediately." It is like that. There are differences in karma such as accumulated and non-accumulated. As the Abhidharmakosha states: "Intended and complete, without regret and without antidote, rejoicing and maturation, such is called accumulated karma." This means that actions done not by mistake but with deliberation, and actions completed in such a way that the result of maturation is certain to be obtained, and actions for which there is no regret, and actions for which there is no antidote that can harm them, and actions in which one rejoices, and these six types of actions, which are certain to mature even if it is uncertain when, are directly shown as accumulated karma. It is implied that karmas other than these six are described as non-accumulated karmas. In the Basis of the Grounds, it says: "Accumulated karma is karma other than ten types, namely: actions done in a dream, actions done unknowingly, actions done unintentionally, actions done not violently and not continuously, actions done by mistake, actions done by forgetfulness, actions done unwillingly, actions that are by nature unspecified, actions eliminated by regret, and actions eliminated by an antidote. Any karma other than these ten types of karma is accumulated karma. Non-accumulated karma is precisely the ten types of karma as described above." From actions done in a dream to actions eliminated by an antidote, these ten types of karma are clearly shown as non-accumulated karma. By the phrase "karma other than these," it is indicated that karma other than these ten types is accumulated karma.

Therefore, to summarize, there are four possibilities: Karma that is done but not accumulated includes actions done by the unskilled, actions done in dreams, unintentional actions, actions done unwillingly but forced by others, actions regretted after being done once, and actions weakened through antidotes. Accumulating but not doing refers to contemplating for a long time with the intention of committing actions such as killing, but not actually carrying out the killing. Doing and accumulating refers to actions done intentionally, without error, and without regret. Not doing and not accumulating refers to actions that do not fall into any of the above categories, hence the division into four. In the commentary on the Abhidharmakośa, it is said that a lie told knowingly after prior consideration, but due to habitual slip-ups, is done but not accumulated. Also, if an action is done intentionally but is not a karma that necessarily leads to rebirth in that realm, it is considered done but not accumulated. Since there are slight differences, careful discernment is required. There are four distinctions in karma, such as karma with white results: Non-virtuous karma is black karma with black results; virtuous karma of the form realm is white karma with white results; virtuous karma of the desire realm is mixed karma with mixed results; and uncontaminated karma, although generally white in nature, does not produce results, and is therefore considered neither white nor black. As stated in the Abhidharmakośa: "Karma has four types, distinguished by white, black, etc." This is how it is explained in the root text and commentary. The virtuous karma of the desire realm is considered mixed karma in this Abhidharmakośa system because a single continuum is mixed with non-virtue and various sufferings, hence this classification. However, this is not from the perspective that the nature of the karma is mixed, as there is no karma where both the nature and result are both white and black. As the Abhidharmakośa commentary states: "This is established from the perspective of the continuum, not from the perspective of the nature, because there is no such thing as a karma or result that is both white and black." However, in the Compendium of Topics, the first and last possibilities are the same as before, while the second possibility is like the virtuous karma of the three realms, and the third possibility is when the action is white but the motivation is black.
