Oh. Among the first ten, each of killing and so on is explained with four aspects: basis, intention, action, and final result. The basis for killing is another sentient being. Intention has three aspects: perception, which is fourfold: perceiving the basis as a sentient being when it is a sentient being, perceiving it as not a sentient being; perceiving something that is not a sentient being as not a sentient being, and perceiving it as a sentient being. The first and third perceptions are not mistaken, while the second and fourth are mistaken. In this case, if there is a specific intention, thinking only to kill Devadatta and starting to strive, but mistakenly killing it as an offering, there is no actual path of action. In such a case, an unconfused perception is necessary. During the action, if there is a general intention to kill whatever arises, then an unconfused perception is not necessary. This should be understood appropriately for the other nine as well. Affliction is any of the three poisons. Intention is the desire to kill. Action is either doing it oneself or causing another to do it. The nature of the action is any act done through weapons, poison, or mantras. The final result is that due to that action, the other person dies at that time or before oneself. If they die at the same time as oneself or after one's own death, then there is no actual result. Even if many people in an army or similar situation agree and one killer kills the other person, all of them generate the actual path of the action of killing. As it is said in the Treasury of Knowledge: "For one purpose, like an army, all possess it like the actor." However, if the agreement is only verbal, done unwillingly, and there is absolutely no intention to kill, then it is clear that no actual result occurs. If one does not see and has no intention to kill, like stepping on and killing a creature, although a minor sin may arise, there is no actual path of action. Although the actions of killing are bodily actions, they are not exclusively done directly by the body, because killing can occur through the power of speech and mind. For it is said that merely by an ascetic's anger or a curse, another's life can be cut short. The basis for taking what is not given is another's property. Intention has three aspects: perception and affliction are the same as before. Intention is the thought of taking what is not given. Action is either oneself or

Or it is the same as causing others to steal or rob. Ultimately, it is enough to generate the thought of obtaining, and it is not necessary to determine the location, because there are also cases like land being encroached upon. Regarding the act of taking what is not given, in the Vinaya, there are many differences in the magnitude of offenses for taking things that are not given, such as the property of people, the offerings to the Three Jewels, the property of non-humans, pledges, and distributed items. Although it is not necessary to apply this universally here, it is necessary to know. The basis for sexual misconduct is fourfold: non-permissible objects, such as other women like mothers and all men; non-genital organs, such as the mouth, including the womb; non-places, such as the presence of the guru and sacred objects; and non-times, such as when pregnant or observing vows. Intention has three aspects: non-erroneous perception is the general case. The Vinaya states that in this case, whether the perception is erroneous or not makes no difference. Affliction is any of the three poisons. Motivation is the desire to engage in impure conduct. Action is striving for that purpose. Completion is the union of two with two. For one's own wife, sexual misconduct does not occur. Therefore, sexual misconduct is pervasive in non-celibate conduct, but non-celibate conduct is not pervasive in sexual misconduct. The basis for lying is twofold: what is seen and heard, and the ability of others to understand the meaning. Intention has three aspects: perception is transforming what is seen, etc., into what is not seen, etc. Affliction is any of the three poisons. Motivation is the desire to speak if the perception is transformed. Action is accepting through gestures or signs, such as not speaking or saying nothing at all. Therefore, what arises from the act of lying is not pervasive in the necessity of speaking with words. Completion is the understanding of others. It is not enough to understand just the words; the meaning must be understood. If the meaning is not understood, one does not know what is being said. If the meaning is not understood, it is just idle talk, which is similar to slander and harsh speech. The basis for slander is sentient beings who are harmonious and disharmonious. Intention has three aspects: perception and affliction are the same as before. Motivation is the desire to separate those who are harmonious and not to unite those who are disharmonious. Action is speaking true or untrue words for that purpose. Completion is understanding the meaning of what is said. The basis for harsh speech is, a mind of torment
