The four hundred and four diseases come from the "Medical Scripture." Among the diseases known as four hundred and four, one hundred and one are seemingly sudden diseases, one hundred and one are demonic diseases caused by delusions, one hundred and one are diseases that deplete lifespan, and one hundred and one are karmic diseases controlled by others. Some also say: one hundred and one diseases can be cured by medicine, one hundred and one diseases can be cured by gradual practice, one hundred and one diseases can be cured by both, and one hundred and one diseases cannot be cured by anything. But our own view is the former. Like this, through the offering of the inner and outer secrets as they are, and offering medicine and oneself as servants, etc., through the path with aims, and then perform the remaining limbs. That is, confession and so on, then rejoicing, urging the turning of the wheel of Dharma, requesting to remain steadfast, dedication, etc., prior to these, those remaining limbs, from the previous "request to accept," do it like this. Second, showing the limbs of confession and so on themselves, from "non-virtuous and sinful deeds from beginningless time" to "dedicate for attainment," there are five verses in total. Here are five: confession, rejoicing, urging, supplication, and dedication. First, from "from beginningless time" etc., four lines, because the starting point of samsara cannot be determined, so from beginningless time until now, the non-virtuous and sinful deeds that I have done, and encouraged others to do, and rejoiced in the sins done by myself and others, etc., all evils, in front of the Guru, the Great Compassionate One, and the retinue, confess with a strong sense of repentance, and from now on, even if faced with life-threatening danger, I will not do it again, and I will properly guard the vows and promise to accept them. Like this. Second, rejoicing is "the nature of all dharmas" etc., four lines, if from the perspective of the nature of conventional dharmas, that is, the reality of emptiness, although it is far from the characteristics of true existence, but without investigation and research, it is merely the establishment of names, and in terms of conventions, the arrangement of cause and effect is reasonable. For example, when a person falls asleep, various kinds of happiness and suffering appear, but these are due to the habits of illusion, and in reality

Because it is not true, the person in the dream is not a real person. Although it is so certain, the things that appear in dreams are not really real, but even so, just as the many joys and sorrows that arise in dreams, although they are not real, but on the conventional level, whether it is ordinary people or all noble beings, various kinds of happiness and joy will arise in their hearts. For the pure good deeds that produce these happiness and joy, we not only praise them verbally, but also rejoice from the bottom of our hearts, and practice joy. This is the first point. The third is the request: excellent wisdom and compassion, etc., four sentences. Excellent wisdom, that is, the wisdom that sees all dharmas as they are; and the compassion that regards all sentient beings as children, like the clouds of compassion, gathering countless clouds, for the benefit and happiness of boundless sentient beings, in order to make the lotus garden of goodness, those who have not yet been born can be born, those who have already been born can live long, and those who live can be further enhanced, please descend the profound, that is, starting from emptiness; vast, that is, the vast bodhisattva practice, etc., the rain of dharma that excellently reveals the conventional dharma. This is an image decoration. To put it a little easier to understand, it is to connect the clouds with wisdom and compassion, to connect the benefit and happiness of sentient beings with the lotus garden, and to connect the teaching of dharma with the rain. The fourth is prayer: Vajra body, etc., four sentences. Vajra, that is, the body that cannot be destroyed by any opposing things, although you have no birth and no death and have obtained freedom, but in order to integrate the two truths, like the wish-fulfilling jewel king, as a vessel for holding the wish-fulfilling jewel, in order to subdue the objects, in order to be able to truly appear in front of us disciples, we pray like this, in order to live in the world for a long time, as we wish, live in the world for a long time, until the end of samsara, do not enter Nirvana, do not show the appearance of Nirvana, please always live in the world. This is the fourth point. The fifth is dedication: the pure good deeds created in this way.
