Because one desires to accomplish samsara through actions, one cannot consider karma-wind itself as the root of samsara, because the root of samsara is definitely only ignorance. Because there are not two different ways of grasping the root of samsara. Those functions are common, and each has its own function: the life-sustaining wind maintains life, and the limb winds lead the senses into the sense doors. The downward-clearing wind leads excrement, urine, semen, blood, etc., into the lower part of the body, especially the lower gate. The equally-dwelling wind digests the food and drink that are enjoyed in the navel, and leads the essence of the food into the heart. The upward-moving wind chews, tastes, draws the lower wind upward and the outer wind inward, and performs the activity of speech. The pervasive wind performs the general movement of the body and activities such as walking. The five limb winds perform in sequence: the eyes see forms, the ears hear sounds, the nose smells odors, the tongue tastes flavors, and the body perceives the activity of touch. Such is the case for both worldly people and yogis. Yogis have a way of acting: by performing vajra recitation on the four root winds, common accomplishments such as pacification are achieved, and because the illusory body arises from wind and mind alone, it also becomes the cause of supreme accomplishment. Fifth, by knowing the nature and function of the winds, an understanding of the key points of practice also arises. If one knows this, one will know that in order to generate the special bliss-emptiness wisdom and the two illusory bodies, one must meditate through various means such as the actual wind or the transmission of mind, and relying on that, the key points of practice will not be mistaken. From knowing this, the understanding of the two ways of entering samsara arises. If one understands the common way of entering samsara, one will know that ignorance is the root of samsara and strive to generate the wisdom that realizes selflessness as its antidote. If one understands the uncommon way, one will know that the wind of conceptual agitation is the cause of accomplishing samsara, and take up the method of placing the body in a vital point as its antidote. Second, the way to perform vajra recitation in the heart, just as it arises from the aggregate, there are three syllables.

The time has come to elaborate on how to extract (seed syllables). Let me explain a little here. As stated in the three, the Explanatory Tantra, the General Meaning of the Tantras, and the Discrimination of the Tantras: "The city of Ali Kali is the root from which secret mantras arise." As it is said, the sixteen vowels and thirty-three consonants are the basis for extracting mantras. There are many mantras extracted from these (letters), such as heart mantras, near-heart mantras, and root mantras. Here, we are extracting the three syllables Om (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿), and Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). Although there are two interpretations, direct and hidden, let's explain only the method of direct extraction. The syllable Om (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡) has three parts: A, U, and Ma. Giving the U to A makes O, and giving the Ma to (become) a bindu makes Om (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡). The syllable Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿) has two short As and one voiceless Ha, a total of three parts. Giving the latter A to the former A makes Ah, and cutting off the Ha makes Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿). According to the explanation of the Lamp Illuminating [Tantra], the Ha is cut off. Some scholars cut off the Sa, which is inconsistent with the above view, but it is consistent with the statement in the Fifth Stage [Tantra]: "ra sa ngag gis rnam bcad do." The syllable Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) has three parts: Ha, U, and Ma. Giving the U to Ha makes Hu, and decorating the Ma with a bindu makes Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). Since all the deities of mantras are gathered into the three vajras, the letters of mantras are gathered into three letters through the mode of action. The three syllables Om (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿), and Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) are respectively the seeds of the three vajras of body, speech, and mind. Through the vajra recitation of the three letters, the actions of all mantras can be accomplished. The symbolic meanings are: the three parts of the syllable Om (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), A, U, and Ma, respectively symbolize the life-sustaining air, the upward-moving air, and the white bodhicitta. The two As and Ha of the syllable Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿) symbolize the life-sustaining air, the upward-moving air, and the downward-clearing air. The three parts of the syllable Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), Ha, U, and Ma, symbolize the downward-clearing air, the upward-moving air, and the life-sustaining air. The necessity of these can mostly be understood elsewhere, and the main necessity is to accomplish the illusory body through the vajra recitation of the three letters. There are two ways to actually perform vajra recitation: performing it in a scattered way and performing it with oral instructions. The first is: clearly visualize oneself as Vajrabhairava, clearly visualize the object of focus with the syllable Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) at the heart, and focus the mind on it. When the breath goes out, regard the natural sound of the breath as the natural sound of the syllable Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). When the breath enters, the natural sound of the breath enters in the way that it arises as the natural sound of the syllable Om (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡). Then
