Then, these ten are the basis of A-short, becoming the cause of speaking; being the basis of the three letters, becoming the cause of Vajra recitation; dissolving into the indestructible, becoming the basis for the manifestation of luminosity. In particular, wind is the mount of consciousness. As quoted earlier from the treatises of the Great Accomplishers, and also in the Five Stages, it is said: "This is the mount of consciousness." Therefore, there is a way of becoming a mount. Because wind is a friend, consciousness enters the object. Without it, consciousness cannot move to the object, because without it, there is no basis for it. The third has three: the transfer of nostrils, the transfer of mandala, the transfer of pulse petals. The first is: In one day and night, half of the nine hundred winds running twenty-four times, mainly the two life down-goers, when twelve nine hundred winds run, they run simultaneously from both nostrils, so there is no transfer of nostrils. Half of it is mainly fire and equanimity, and when it runs like this, there is one transfer for every nine hundred winds, and the transfer is six sixes, that is, twelve times. The second is: If the large mandala is the main one, then each of the four mandalas has six sixes, that is, twenty-four transfers, as before. Each transfer of the large mandala has four small transfers, that is, ninety-six. From the Compendium of Origins and the Two Examinations, it is said that there are sixteen transfers of the large mandala in one day and night, transformed by the four goddesses, so it is said that each small transfer has four. The way to divide sixteen is also eight transfers of nostrils and eight non-transfers, that is, sixteen. The third is: There are sixty-four staffs outside, similarly, inside, in one day and night, from the sixty-four pulse petals of the navel, four winds of each staff run. There are thirty-two hours outside, similarly, inside, from the thirty-two pulse petals of the crown, thirty-two hours of wind run. There are sixteen transfers outside, similarly, inside, from the sixteen pulse petals of the throat, sixteen transfers of wind run. There are eight periods outside, similarly, inside, from the eight pulse petals of the heart, eight periods of wind run. Therefore, in one day and night, the arising and dissolving of wind are combined into one, exceeding twenty-one thousand six hundred, without any lack.

Now, to continue. When the movement of the two petals of the navel chakra is complete, it transfers to the two petals of the crown chakra. When the movement of the two petals of the crown chakra is complete, it transfers to the two petals of the throat chakra. When the movement of the two petals of the throat chakra is complete, it transfers from one petal to two petals of the heart chakra. The fourth function is that the subtle wind and consciousness mix, which for worldly people, produces the activity of samsara, and for yogis, produces the activity of liberation. If you know the first of these, you will know the order of entering samsara, including the common and uncommon. Knowing this, you will know how yogis achieve liberation. Knowing this, you will also know the order of reversing from samsara. So, how does wind produce the activity of samsara for worldly people? This is because of the power of karma and afflictions, birth and death continue one after another, and the nature of samsara is samsara. This is the action of wind. When sentient beings die, earth dissolves into water, water into fire, fire into wind, wind into space, space into consciousness, consciousness into near attainment, and near attainment into clear light, and that clear light is the clear light of death. This also arises from the movement of wind becoming weaker and weaker from the earlier to the later stages. The saying that earth dissolves into water means that the grossness of the earth element weakens the ability to support consciousness, so it is said that way. But its dharma realm does not disappear, because there is still the form aggregate. Similarly, the process up to the dissolution of wind should be understood in the same way. Dissolution is also not a real dissolution in terms of essence, but something like a transfer from the previous stage to the next, so it is said that way. At the time of birth, near attainment and so on arise from the clear light of death, which arises from the movement of wind becoming coarser and coarser from the earlier to the later stages. In this way, wind generates eighty kinds of conceptual thoughts and afflictions, and by this, karma is accumulated, and thus one is born in samsara, therefore, it is established that wind acts in the order of birth and death. This is from the perspective of the uncommon order of entering samsara. The common aspect is that due to the power of ignorance, karma is accumulated, and due to the power of karma, one wanders in samsara, which is the same as what was said before. When admitting that karma wind is the cause of accomplishing samsara, ignorance is the common auxiliary condition.
