Therefore, the bliss arising merely from engaging with the two mudras of karma and wisdom is not the bliss of union with emptiness in this context, because it exists even when one is only abiding in the generation stage. In short, all contaminated and uncontaminated bliss that has not entered the central channel, such as the bliss of the burning of ordinary tummo, is not the bliss of union with emptiness in this context, because here, the bliss of union with emptiness requires a spontaneously arisen great bliss of the completion stage that arises from the power of meditation, with the winds entering, abiding, and dissolving in the central channel. Third, the method of uniting bliss and emptiness as inseparable: uniting spontaneously arisen bliss and its dharmata as one entity, as dharma and dharmin, is not the meaning of uniting bliss and emptiness in this context, because as soon as bliss is established, it is one entity with its own dharmata, because all dharmas, as soon as they are self-established, are established as one entity with their own dharmata, because the emptiness of all dharmas by their very nature is their dharmata. All dharmas, such as form, are empty by their very nature from the beginning, and while being empty by their very nature, they appear as such in conventional terms. Therefore, they are not different in essence from their own emptiness, and their emptiness is also not different in essence from them, but is other. The sutra says: Form is emptiness, emptiness is form, emptiness is not other than form, and form is not other than emptiness. Therefore, it is said that this applies to all dharmas in the same way. Furthermore, to seal spontaneously arisen bliss with another view of emptiness, or to seal the view of emptiness with another spontaneously arisen bliss, is also not the meaning of uniting bliss and emptiness in this context, because although spontaneously arisen bliss is grasped by the wisdom that realizes emptiness, spontaneously arisen bliss itself has not become the nature of the mind that realizes emptiness. For example, generosity and so on are grasped by the wisdom that realizes emptiness, but have not become its nature. So, what should be done? There is a way, namely, through the power of meditation, the winds enter the

Having entered the mother's womb, the mind consciousness that has undergone the three stages of abiding, absorption, and dissolution, arises as the nature of innate bliss. Through this, one realizes emptiness without error. The union of the object and the subject in this context is the meaning of uniting bliss and emptiness as inseparable. The wisdom that realizes emptiness and the innate bliss, uniting these two into a state of inseparable essence, is also the meaning of uniting bliss and emptiness in this context. As stated in the Sambhuti: Like water mixed with milk, through the union of non-duality, whatever the two become combined, is known as wisdom and means. Also, as stated in the Chakrasamvara Root Tantra: The two are of one taste, inseparable, which is the great bliss of joy. The distinction between wisdom and compassion is like a lamp and its rays. Therefore, when the actual luminosity of meaning arises, there is a real union of equal taste and inseparable essence, like water entering water. Before that, it is united in the manner of aspiration and mental engagement, or in the manner of general meaning. As stated in the Sprout of Accomplishments: When the actual luminosity of meaning arises, the object and subject become one, like milk entering water, and even the subtle appearances of duality are purified. Before the actual innate arises, because reality is not directly realized, it is only entered through aspiration and mental engagement. In short, without a definitive view of emptiness, one cannot be liberated from samsara. Without the great innate bliss, the special key points of the mantra path are not complete, so one is not enough; both are necessary. As Saraha said: If one enters emptiness devoid of compassion, one will not attain the supreme path. But if one only cultivates compassion, one will remain in samsara and not attain liberation. Whoever can unite these two, will not abide in samsara nor abide in nirvana. Therefore, the compassion mentioned here is the innate bliss that realizes emptiness. Although there is no difference between the sutra and tantra in the subtle emptiness that is the cause of realization, no other object has the ability to realize emptiness like the innate bliss in the mind that is the result of realization. Therefore, the mantra path is particularly supreme.
