Although not combined exactly as they are, visualizing the supporting palace is consistent with the place of birth, and the deity being supported is like a sentient being taking birth in the womb and then being born externally, therefore, it serves as a path to transform birth into the incarnate body. It is necessary to meditate in this way because, in the stages of the path and the result, the mandala of the support and the supported are simultaneously accomplished and are of the same form, becoming the ripening cause of the roots of virtue that accomplish this. Secondly, there are two: visualizing the support, and visualizing what is being supported. Firstly, there are two: the charnel ground, and the way to visualize the palace. The first is: although from the sadhana, the walls of the palace, etc., appear before the charnel ground, here the charnel ground is explained first because the various aspects of the palace will be explained together. Thus, the way to visualize the charnel ground is: as it is very clearly described in the sadhana, visualizing the east as "fierce" and so on. This way of visualizing the charnel ground is done in an extensive way, but if you want to visualize it in a condensed way, that is also fine, like the charnel ground of the previous deity and Yamantaka. The charnel ground has a symbolic meaning, just as there is no owner of the corpse there, it symbolizes impermanence, selflessness, and renunciation. Secondly, within the charnel ground, it is necessary to visualize the vajra fence and the fire mountain, etc., because it is to prevent obstacles from arising when visualizing the actual sadhana. So, are the vajra fence, etc., that are visualized here the same as those visualized during the protection circle, or are they newly generated? Although it is not very clear from other sources, the former dissolves into clear light, and the latter is newly generated. As Je Tsongkhapa's 'Wishing Jewel' says: "These dissolve into clear light, and when the palace is accomplished, the perfection of the vajra appears again, and the other two may or may not appear." Here, it is not contradictory that the former dissolves into clear light and then the latter is generated, just as the uncommon protection circle of the noble lineage dissolves into clear light and then the latter is generated. Within it, it is necessary to visualize various vajras in the center of various lotuses, because the former is the basis of the latter.

Ah, because both are the foundation of the palace. There are methods for how to make various vajra shapes, etc.: The central shape is quadrangular, resembling a flat winnowing basket. The width is twelve door-measures, and the height is five or five and a half door-measures. The number of horns is five on each side, totaling twenty, or three, totaling twelve. A three-door-measure ramp has four horn-door-measures, and a one-door-measure ramp has two horn-door-measures. The color can be horn-red or any directional color, without conflict. There are methods for how to construct the walls of the palace, etc.: From the end of the center of each direction, abandoning two door-measures inward, from the edge of that point, there are five layers of white, yellow, red, green, and blue walls, the total width of all five layers being one small part, and the height being thirteen small parts. Above that, there is a parapet with a height of one small part and a width of two and a half small parts, thus it is elevated. Its outer surface is adorned with jewels of various shapes and colors. Above that, there is a golden belt, like a flatly stretched cloth, with small pillars and measuring vessels erected in the spaces beneath each of the four belts, the total height of the four being two small parts and the width being one small part, encircling the perimeter. On its outer surface, there are nets and half-nets, along with fans. On its upper surface, the outer edge of the palace roof is the same as the valance under the eaves, projecting outward by two small parts, with strings of jewels hanging downward on its outer surface. Directly above that, there is an arrow-shaped half-lotus petal, with a width of one small part and a height of one or half a small part, adorned with victory banners and flags, etc. There is also a height, the interior height of the palace being sixteen small parts. There are distinctions between doors and doorframes, etc.: From the intersection of the base line and the central line, one-eighth is the outer door. From there, extending outward by four small parts is the doorframe. From there, extending two small parts to the left and right are the door sills. From there, extending two small parts directly becomes the door wall. The two side walls are not equal to the door; in this direction, there is one small part between the face of the door wall and the end of the center of the various vajras.
