In order to need to generate faith and understanding in what is the completion stage, in order for him to understand it, how should one practice? It is necessary to offer outer, inner, and secret offerings to the guru, and to praise and supplicate with words such as "Light pervades your body." Moreover, from the generation stage to the three solitudes, there is no deity body with characteristics, so one asks how to generate a deity body with characteristics. The second part is divided into two points: how to practice before the illusory body, and explaining the stages of the illusory body itself. The first point is: the teacher first says, "I will explain how to generate such a special deity body, please listen," and then explains the reason. From the Self-Blessing it says: "For countless eons, even if one understands the Prajnaparamita, without the permission of the guru, one cannot manifest the illusory body." Like this, the merits and faults of obtaining or not obtaining such a difficult-to-obtain illusory body are: From the Five Stages it says: "Whoever has not obtained the stage of self-blessing, his efforts in the Sutras, Tantras, and realization will become meaningless. Whoever has obtained the stage of self-blessing, he is the master of all Buddhas, and can attain Buddhahood in this life without doubt." Just like that. The second part is divided into two points: laying the foundation of the oral instructions, and explaining the method of practicing the illusory body. The first point is: as a basis, the extremely subtle wind-mind, which is inherently present as one's own nature, is the basis for practicing the illusory body. As a basis, sentient beings do not suddenly and autonomously arise in the next life at the time of death, but from their own cause, that is, from the collection of wind-mind in the clear light of death, the intermediate state arises, and then enters the state of becoming. If one can skillfully transform this into the path, then the yogi can manifest the illusory body and attain Buddhahood. From the Five Stages it says: "All beings are without autonomy, and cannot arise autonomously. Its cause is light, and all light is emptiness. With whatever mind children are bound by the bonds of samsara, with that same mind the yogi goes to the place of the Sugata." For this reason. Furthermore, the birth, death, and intermediate state of beings are all transformations of their own cause, that is, the extremely subtle wind-mind.

That subtle wind-mind arises in various beings. As it is said in the Vajra Garland: "The self-life that has become the essence, there is nothing else in the three realms. The three realms of illusory wind, seen like dreaming in a dream." And, "Birth and abiding and destruction, abiding in the intermediate existence, whatever is established by the world, is the magical display of the wind of the mind." Also, as it is said in the Prophecy: "Conscious and unconscious, established as sentient beings dwelling here, all these arise from the wind, and again cease from the wind. That mind of discrimination, even though it dwells in the ocean of samsara, because of being inverted and mistaken, that mind will become a dog, a jackal, an elephant, and even become a horse." Therefore, the collection of the extremely subtle wind and mind of the basic sentient being is the four practices of the illusory body. It is certain that sentient beings have two kinds of body and mind: a coarse, temporary body and mind, and a subtle, innate body and mind. Even if the coarse body and mind are abandoned, the illusory body is accomplished through the continuity of the two, the subtle body and mind. The first point is established because the body of sentient beings has a coarse resultant body, and the mind associated with it, and the extremely subtle wind and the subtle mind associated with it. The second point is established because the coarse body and mind are like heat in water and can be abandoned, but the subtle body and mind are like moisture in water and cannot be separated. Although one person has two sets of subtle and coarse body and mind, they do not become different continuums, because the subtle and coarse are generally the dependent and the depended upon, and when one of the two mainly functions, the other appears in a latent manner. Just as there may be multiple 'I's due to different times, but they do not become different continuums. Generally, it is said that the extremely subtle wind and mind become the illusory body, or that the wind becomes the illusory body, but that is from a gross perspective. In detail, it should be distinguished and said that the extremely subtle wind becomes the body of the illusory body, and the extremely subtle mind becomes the mind of the illusory body. It should be distinguished in this way. The wind and mind that are the basis of the illusory body.
