Furthermore, wind has the function of cyclic existence for sentient beings, because the three, birth, death, and bardo, are themselves governed by wind. From the earth dissolving into water, to the stages of death where near-attainment light dissolves, all occur through the movement of wind gradually weakening. The formation of the bardo and near-attainment is also governed by wind. From that, offering arises; from that, appearance arises; from that, the eighty types of self-nature conceptualizations arise, also through the movement of wind gradually increasing. Connecting the continuum in the existence of birth, and the dissolving and arising stages of appearances at the time of connecting the continuum, and all the stages of bodily development, are all governed by wind. Therefore, afflictions arise from the wind associated with totally fabricated conceptualizations, and by this, accumulating black and white karma, one is born in cyclic existence, so the process of entering cyclic existence is governed by wind. This is the common function, and the individual functions are: life-sustaining wind maintains life, ascending wind brings food and drink upwards and inwards, descending wind expels and retains excrement, urine, semen, blood, etc., equally-dwelling wind digests food and drink, separates essence and waste, and distributes the essence throughout the body. Pervasive wind moves the body and performs activities such as walking. The five branch winds perform the activities of seeing forms, hearing sounds, smelling scents, tasting flavors, and experiencing tactile sensations, respectively. Secondly, yogis have a more special function, through vajra recitation one can attain two types of accomplishments, and especially, the illusory body can be accomplished from the extremely subtle wind-mind. Seventh, relying on that, one can understand the key points of practice, to accomplish the union body, one must first obtain the illusory body, and in order to accomplish that, one needs to press the vital points of the body, and especially, relying on vajra recitation, the knot of the heart channel can be loosened, thereby realizing emptiness through the bliss of the four joys and co-emergent luminosity. For this, one must first practice meditation on wind, both directly and indirectly. Fourth, divided into five: the collection of mantras, the mantras of

Explanation of terms, meaning of mantras, ultimate meaning of mantras, explanation of the root A-thung of mantras. First, the basis for collecting straightforward mantras is vowels and consonants. As stated in the Three Tantras: "The city of Ali Kali is the root from which secret mantras arise." Therefore, collected mantras generally include heart mantras, near-heart mantras, root mantras, etc., but here, three letters are collected. There is a method for collecting: From the three letters A, U, and Ma, ༀ་(Tibetan, Sanskrit: ओ, Romanization: o, Literal meaning: Om) is collected; from the three letters A, A, and the separator,ཨཱཿ(Tibetan, Sanskrit: आः, Romanization: āḥ, Literal meaning: Ah) is collected; from the three letters Ha, U, and Ma, ཧཱུཾ་(Tibetan, Sanskrit: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) is collected. Because these three letters arise from these transformations, and the methods for collecting other mantras are as described in each tantra. The basis for collecting and the collected mantras can be categorized into three types: consonants and goddess mantras, and the letter ༀ་(Tibetan, Sanskrit: ओ, Romanization: o, Literal meaning: Om) are masculine; vowels and goddess mantras, andཨཱཿ(Tibetan, Sanskrit: आः, Romanization: āḥ, Literal meaning: Ah) are feminine; the four letters Ṛ and Ḷ, and mantras common to both male and female deities, and ཧཱུཾ་(Tibetan, Sanskrit: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) are considered neuter letters. Among all collected mantras, the three letters are the most important, because these three letters are the seeds of the three vajras, and the deities of mantras can also be categorized into the three vajras. Therefore, it is said that all mantras are contained within these three letters, but this is not simply a matter of inclusion, but rather to let us know that the accomplishment or power of all mantras exists in the power of reciting these three letters in vajra recitation. The ultimate meaning of mantras has a basis for collecting and a method for collecting: From each chakra, the breaths that indistinctly pronounce the sounds of vowels and consonants are the basis for collecting. The vajra recitation in which the breaths perform the three states of rising, entering, and abiding, and in general, the self-sound of these three states manifests as the sound of the three letters, is the ultimate meaning and method of collecting. Second, the term "mantra" is the name of the mantra. It has four types: snake, infinite, headless, and collected, as well as many others such as heart mantra, near-heart mantra, and mala mantra. Here, combining the self-sound of the three states of five entries and abiding with the sound of the three letters is the term "mantra." As stated in the Agamas: "The nature of the term abides in three places, it is the characteristic of self-nature recitation." Third, in general, there are many meanings of mantras, but here it refers to the three letters.
