Therefore, if other (channel knots) are liberated, the channel knot in the heart is easily liberated, and if it is not liberated, it is difficult to liberate. Regarding the second point, some people think that speech isolation is the generation stage, which is unreasonable. Because the Compendium of Actions says that speech isolation is not the manifest object of the generation stage, but transcends it. Moreover, the order of the five stages also hinders the order of explaining the five stages of the completion stage. Regarding the third point, there are seven aspects: the meaning of gradually training in the three, namely, air, speech, and vajra recitation; the faults and merits of understanding and not understanding the nature of air; the classification of air; the meaning of each classification; how the airs transfer; the function of air; and how to understand the key points of practice based on it. The first point is: First, after understanding the nature of air and the nature of mantra through hearing and thinking, one must then enter the vajra recitation that is inseparable from air and speech. As stated in the Five Stages: The nature of air gradually, truly enters the nature of mantra, after realizing the generation of mantra, then train in vajra recitation. The second point is: There is great benefit in practicing after understanding the nature of air, and there is great fault in not understanding and not practicing. As it says: Yogis who practice air, quickly attain accomplishment. Also, as stated in the Source of Vows: Those who do not understand the yoga of air, or who understand but do not practice, will be harassed by various sufferings and become worms of samsara. The third point is: There is a way to explain through the names of the ten airs. As stated in the Collected Works of Yeshe Dorje: The ten airs, such as "Kota" and "Khaya," are not spoken of as their literal meanings. Also, as stated in the Vajra Door Tantra: Life-sustaining air, downward-clearing air, equal-dwelling air, upward-moving air, pervasive air, these are the five root airs; moving air, completely moving air, correctly moving air, extremely moving air, definitely moving air, these are the five branch airs, which are spoken of as their literal meanings. And in the Tantra Vajra Garland and Lungton, it is said that the five root airs are spoken of as their literal meanings, and the latter five are: dragon, turtle, crab, deity-giving, and bow-victorious. Thus, it is said that they are not their literal meanings. The fourth point has three: the meaning of the root air, the meaning of the branch air, air

This is an explanation of the common meaning of the two. Firstly, as previously explained, the five root winds can be considered as the winds of the five protectors in order: Akshobhya, Ratnasambhava, Amoghasiddhi, Amitabha, and Vairochana's winds. They can also be considered as a way to combine with the goddesses: Mamaqi, Locana, Tara, Gauri, and Locana's winds will also change accordingly. They can also be considered as a way to combine with the elements: the winds of water, earth, wind, fire, and space. They can also be arranged in order of color: white, yellow, green, red, and blue. There are differences in location: they are located in the heart, secret place, navel, throat, and joints of the body. There are two types of life-sustaining winds, subtle and coarse. The extremely subtle one is located in the center of the heart's dhūti. As it says in the Vajra Heart Ornament: In the center of the heart, there is the indestructible, like the flame of a clear lamp, unchanging and extremely subtle, A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A) is the essence of the main deity. Therefore, this is the indestructible wind. In general, there are many kinds of indestructible winds: the indestructible bodhicitta, the fundamental luminosity, and the subtle life-sustaining wind. There are differences in the way they flow: the life-sustaining wind, the downward-clearing wind, the equal-dwelling wind, the upward-moving wind, and the pervasive wind flow in and out of the two nostrils in order, both flowing intensely, flowing slowly only from the left, flowing intensely only from the right, and not flowing at the time of death. This is the way each one mainly flows. There is also a way for the winds to flow with one as the main and the other three as attendants: taking the upward-moving wind as an example, the color of the upward-moving wind is red, so under its influence, the life-sustaining wind takes on a white and red luster, the downward-clearing wind is yellow and red, and the equal-dwelling wind is green and red, flowing like a rainbow. As it says in the sixth chapter of the Root Tantra: The retinue also manifests its own distinctions. Therefore, there are fundamental places for entering and exiting. As it says in the Vajra Garland: Armpit, heart, navel, and the secret lotus show coming and going. Just as it is said. Whichever of the four winds of the four protectors is the main one, it flows nine hundred thousand times as before, and to this, the four goddesses
