Regarding the two methods of 'doing as this' and 'doing as not different,' Darika and Sarahas performed the Hevajra practice by considering self-generation and front-generation as different, while Nagarjuna, Bodhichitta Banner, Shri Holder, Lavapa, and others practiced by considering self-generation and front-generation as non-different. When practicing self-generation and front-generation as different, one first meditates fully on self-generation and then practices front-generation, without the visualization of going to the front mandala. When practicing as non-different, one does not first meditate on self-generation, but rather believes that one has reached the center of the mandala, thus practicing self-generation and front-generation as one. Alternatively, one first meditates on self-generation and then practices front-generation, believing that one has reached the center of the mandala, and enters through purification and generation in different ways. Among these two methods, the first is suitable for deities like Yamantaka, but for Guhyasamaja, it is necessary to first practice self-generation, as in the latter method, according to the view of Khedrup Je. However, according to the wording of the Stages of Mantra, if self-generation and front-generation are practiced as non-different, separate deity yoga is not necessary. Therefore, it is thought that when practicing the mandala, if one has already engaged in special meditation and recitation, one does not need to separately meditate on self-generation, but can practice self-generation and front-generation as one. Thus, in general, the front-generation practice of Guhyasamaja requires self-generation to precede it. Having done so, one believes that one has entered the center of the mandala, and then generates the purification, the four elements mandala, and the deity's seat. In these mandalas, one fully generates the main deity and retinue through the three-generation ritual, engages in union with one's consort, and generates the deities of the womb. Then, one recites the name mantra, causing these deities to manifest outwards, performing common and uncommon activities, and then uniting into one, inviting the three-layered Samayasattva, who is inseparable from the Wisdom Being, and dissolving them into their respective Samayasattvas. Then, one invites other innate Wisdom Beings, dissolves them, and performs empowerment and sealing. After that, the preparatory deities are dissolved. Even when practicing a painted mandala, it is the same as practicing a sand mandala, according to Je Rinpoche's intention, as clearly stated in both the Stages of Mantra and the Extremely Clear.

Although I know, it seems that nowadays, most people make mudras as if they are creating a meditation mandala, but I don't think that's right. Therefore, even in cloth paintings, it should be done like powdered colors. For the meditation mandala, when generating the deity, it is slightly different from before, so it should be done as explained in the stages of mantra, etc. For the body mandala, although it is similar to meditation, the parts of the body are used as the basis for practice. This requires detailed understanding. Some ignorant people say that the outer container palace and the inner deities and goddesses actually exist in their own nature. Others say that those parts of the body are the actual nature of the supporting and supported deities, but because they don't understand, they meditate on them in order to understand and clarify them. To say this is like being ignorant of the wisdom deity, or thinking that there is a deity that is completely unknown, or thinking that there is a Buddha with obscurations. What could be worse than that kind of admission? Second, there are two parts: offering to the mandala internally and offering the torma externally. First, purify and generate the offering substances such as offering water, and then completely perform the offering, praise, recitation, and hundred-syllable mantra as they appear in the mandala ritual. For the four offering waters, start with peaceful substances and pour in milk, white flowers, sesame seeds, rice, etc., to practice. For increasing practices, etc., the colors are slightly different. The method of offering should be learned from elsewhere. Second, externally, offer tormas to both transcendent and non-transcendent beings and entrust them with activities. Then, make close contact and come inside. With the Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) mudra, recite the four Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) mantra, and with flowers and visualization, enter from under the wall of the mandala, recite the hundred-syllable mantra, and offer flowers after circumambulating three times. Then, circumambulate once and open one door at a time. First, starting from the west, open the east door with the opening mantra, and similarly, apply the same reasoning to the other directions. Then, take the flowers offered with the mantra, dance, put them on your head, and pray for accomplishment. Second, empowerment has three parts. Because there are many words regarding the ritual of empowering disciples, I will not explain those details in detail here, so you should learn from elsewhere.
