Therefore, without the ritual, the wise should not draw the mandala. Also, from the full moon day of the middle autumn month to the last day of the late spring month, during this time, the wise should draw the mandala according to the ritual. Also, on the auspicious days of the waxing moon, such as the eighth, thirteenth, fourteenth, tenth, or eleventh days. From (the waxing moon) to the waning moon, there is no obstacle to drawing the mandala. As mentioned above. Regarding Thursday, Monday, Venus, Sunday, and the constellations such as Chitra, Rohini, Magha, Krittika, Jala, Ashlesha, and Mula, they are all well explained. The second part is divided into two parts: the order of the empowerment ritual and its branches. The first part is divided into three parts: the ground ritual, the preparation, and the main ritual. The first part is divided into six aspects: examining the land, requesting the land, purifying, holding the land, protecting and blessing, and the discussion on whether other places and mandalas need the ground ritual. The first point is: it should be done in a suitable place outside towns and temples, preferably facing east or north. It should not be done near the east, south, west, southeast, stupas, tree stumps, or places with thorns. If it is done inside a temple, there is no restriction on the direction. If examining the land by digging, the Garland of Lotuses says that digging one cubit high, if the dug soil can quickly fill the pit and there is some left over, that is good. If examining with water, dig the previous pit again to a height of one cubit, fill it with water, then walk a hundred steps and look back, if the water is still full, that is good, if the water level drops, that is not good. A drop in the water level refers to being less than half of the pit. The Garland of Lotuses says that these two methods of observation can also be used when building earthen houses. Regarding the color of the soil: white, yellow, red, and black correspond respectively to the activities of pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and subjugating, and one should understand their patterns. The second point is: as stated in the General Tantra, "After the owner of the land has given permission, the teacher can draw the mandala." Therefore, if it is deemed suitable after observation, the land should be requested from the powerful owner such as the king. Then, the land should be requested by first offering tormas to the earth deities and local deities. The third part is divided into three aspects: purifying after digging, purifying with three things such as substances and mantras, and with purity.

Practice. The first part has two points: the main text and the method of examining the fertility of the foundation. First point: For a platform that is already completed, even if it is not needed, if digging is done, the thorns in the soil must be removed. This refers to removing bones, stones, tiles, stumps, and thorns, etc. For the remaining soil that has not been removed, mix it with urine and fill the dug pit. If it is not filled, fill it with something else. Then, sprinkle urine that has been recited with "Hum" (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Hum) and "all actions," making it about half a cubit high, flat, slightly higher in the center, and slightly lower in the east and north. This is the same for both the ground and the platform. In the center of the platform made of earth, dig a small hole and put in grains, jewels, and medicines. It is also good to put in a vase filled with jewels, etc. Second point: In order to draw mandalas and build temples, etc., it is necessary to examine the fertility of the foundation. As it says in the "Sequence of Mantras": "Wherever is used as a foundation, it should be made square, with ninety grids in each of the four directions, corresponding to the number of days in three months." The way the fertility of the foundation stays and moves is: on the first day of the first month of autumn, the head is placed in the grid of the northeast corner, and the tail is placed in the grid of the southwest corner, facing south. After that, for each day that passes, the head moves one grid south, and the tail moves one grid north, moving clockwise. In three months, each direction moves ninety grids, so in one year, all four sets of ninety grids in the four directions will cycle through. Furthermore, with the left rib placed underneath, there are ten heights from the shoulder blade to the tail end, and each height presses on nine grids, so no matter which direction or corner it is located in, it will press on ninety grids. The area of the body covers nine parts of the earth grid, and the secret place is placed in the center of the direction in which it is located. Also, regarding the location of digging, it also says from there: "If it is assumed that the head is facing east, then from the direction corresponding to the grid that the head is pressing on, to the west, until twenty-seven grids have been abandoned, it is not allowed to dig. From that corner, nine grids to the west, and from the land pressed by the body of the back, fourteen and a half grids forward.
