This is because the state beyond suffering is not attained. If it were not so, how would the previous scriptures, and the statement by Abhayakaragupta, "The first countless eons begin from the path of accumulation until the completion of the first bhumi," not contradict each other? Therefore, from when the powers of goodness and so on are accomplished on the path of accumulation, the countless eons begin. Furthermore, it is stated in the Compendium: How can one attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment in one lifetime? For an Arhat, there is not even one lifetime, let alone the continuation of a lineage. It is said: By prolonging the life force, it is possible to manifest it. This is what is taught. The Madhyamika Dharma friend said: Bodhisattvas, by the power of their abilities and diligence, are not necessarily limited to three countless eons. How to accumulate. Thirdly, if explained according to the Bodhisattva Pitaka, first, in the royal palace of the victorious banner, when the king's son, named Youthful Diligence, became the diligent practitioner, from the time he attended and revered the Tathagata Great Mass who appeared in the world, and created roots of virtue, he accumulated merit for one countless eon, and thus attained the first bhumi. Then, in the city of Jambu River Gold, when the king Great Manifestation of Beautiful Appearance, the merchant Wise and Good, from the time he attended and revered the Tathagata Jewel Limb who appeared in the world, and received his teachings, he accumulated merit for one countless eon, and thus surpassed the seventh bhumi. Then, having become a Brahmin boy named Cloud, he learned the Vedas from the Brahmin Jewel, and in order to seek the cause of reverence, he traveled through the cities of the central region, and finally arrived at the center of the market of the Lotus Palace of King Subduer of Enemies. At that time, the son of the Brahmin Lamp Owner, the Tathagata Dipamkara appeared in the world, and the gods in the sky scattered flowers, played music, and sang harmonious songs. Seeing him residing in the sky, he asked, "What are you doing?" They replied, "Don't you know? The Buddha Dipamkara resides here."

So it is said. He was called Kyibung, and alas, it is difficult for a Buddha to appear. I should repay the teacher's fee later, and with these five hundred Karshapanas, I shall make offerings to the Buddha. Thinking thus, he promised the Brahmin girl Zanglen Den as a reward, to be her husband in all lifetimes. He bought five Utpalas Blue lotus), and scattered them to the Buddha. He spread out the skin of a black deer, lit a lamp, and prayed, 'May the Tathagata Kunnas Chen understand my extraordinary intention, and please place your feet on this deer skin.' By doing this, he pleased the Buddha greatly. He spread his golden hair on the ground as a seat, lit a lamp, and asked Kunnas Chen, 'Will you not place your feet here? If you do not give a prophecy, I will wither my body here.' He made such a firm vow. Then, the Teacher placed his feet upon it. 'Monks, do not step on the hair of this child. Why? Because this is a place of offering for the world, including the gods. In the future, he will become Shakyamuni Buddha.' After this prophecy, he was overjoyed, his body rose to the height of seven palm trees, he manifested a hundred thousand Samadhis, and attained the eighth Bhumi. As it is said: 'With five Utpalas Blue lotus) offered to Dipankara Buddha, and hair spread on the ground as a seat, he obtained the forbearance of non-arising dharmas, and was prophesied to become a Shakya king.' The Sutra says: 'When Dipankara Buddha prophesied to me, I attained the eighth Bhumi, and also obtained the ten powers.' From then on, he accumulated countless merits, and perfected the ten Bhumis. Chimpa said: 'At the end of the third countless eon, he manifested as the Tathagata Star King. At that time, although the accumulation of merit was complete, it was not entirely complete, so in this eon, when the lifespan was twenty thousand years, in the city of Nyelden, when the Buddha Light Protector appeared, he accumulated merit until he became the Brahmin boy Lama.' In those times, he also attended and made offerings to countless Buddhas, and listened to the Dharma. In the 'Moon Lamp Sutra' it says: 'Countless billions of Buddhas, more than the sands of the Ganges, all reside on this Vulture Peak.'
