As stated in the Twenty Thousand Verses and others, there is a samadhi called "Well Discriminating the Words of All Dharmas." The phrase "by that samadhi" is explained by the previous samadhi. Until the seed of obscuration, a single breath, has not ceased, and the samadhi of unchanging bliss in a moment has not been attained, all inanimate sounds are separated from letters, and the speech of sentient beings and the sounds of inner and outer space have various truths and falsehoods, and various pleasant and unpleasant sounds. When the seed of obscuration, a single breath, ceases, and the samadhi of unchanging bliss in a moment is attained, gradually the divine ear of the deities of heaven, the Tathagatagarbha, the Alaya-wisdom is obtained. As the portion of purity increases more and more, all sounds can be heard, and only true and pleasing sounds appear. One hears and understands all the languages of all beings, including the language of the gods. Furthermore, one can also communicate in the languages of as many different kinds of beings as there are. From the state of samadhi, one hears the various teachings of the higher and lower vehicles, abandonment and realization, and the stages of the path. These rich and vast contents, even without an external explicit guru, an internal implicit guru will arise from within. This is the oral tradition of the previous great accomplished beings. When the seed of obscuration, a single breath, ceases, one can also preach various different dharmas to various different beings in various different languages. As it is said: The language of the gods and the language of the nagas, etc., the language of boats and pots and the language of humans, etc., as many languages as there are of all beings, I preach the Dharma in all those languages. This is the meaning of that. Introduction to Various Kinds of Wisdom-Scents Third, the introduction to various kinds of wisdom-scents is: scent should be understood as samadhi. As it says in the Two Examinations Tantra: Here, scent is a symbol, the scent of garlic is the first, then again the scent of a vulture, the scent of camphor from Malaya. The meaning is: Alaya-wisdom, Mahamudra, Great Madhyamaka, Mahayana, Profound Prajnaparamita, Tathagatagarbha is that very thing. Manifested when practicing the six-limbed yoga with the binding union, the scent of garlic and the scent of a vulture, the scent of camphor from Malaya. Thus it is said.

The scent of turmeric, the scent of sandalwood from Malaya, camphor, spices, Sogpo camphor, mixed incense, Han incense, and so on, all sorts of scents, as well as feces, urine, pus, blood, rotten meat, garbage heap dust, and so on, all sorts of unpleasant smells, freshly brewed alcohol, boiling barley, the scent of various incenses, pine, birch, fir, and so on, the scent of various trees, as well as the incense of gods, the incense of nagas, and various wonderful, abundant, inconceivable, and unnamable scents suitable for noble Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas appear, this is so that yogis can experience various states in meditation. Furthermore, all that appears and exists is filled with wonderful scents, eliminating all diseases and suffering, making body, mind, and senses comfortable, the samadhi that expands the light of wisdom, possessing the effect of all food and clothing, appears filling the sky. Moreover, as long as the seed of obscuration, that is, one breath, has not ceased, various kinds of smells will appear, some pleasant, some unpleasant, some pleasing, some displeasing, some beneficial to illness, some not beneficial to illness, and so on, this is so that yogis can experience various states in meditation. When the seed of obscuration, that is, one breath, ceases, and one obtains the samadhi of the moment of unchanging bliss, all smells become fragrant, pleasing, becoming one taste of great bliss, continuously filling the sky and appearing. Introducing the Variety of Flavors of Wisdom The fourth is the introduction to the variety of flavors of wisdom: flavor should be understood as samadhi. The meaning of which is the coemergent wisdom Mahamudra, the Great Madhyamaka, the Great Vehicle, the profound Prajnaparamita, the Tathagatagarbha, with that bound union, when practicing the six-branch yoga, what manifests is that flavor falls into six directions. Namely, salty, sweet, spicy, bitter, astringent, and sour. Among them, the salty taste is like the taste of salt, Han salt, rock salt, Karu salt, Ze salt, potash salt, earth salt, and wood salt. The sweet taste is like the taste of sugar, brown sugar, honey, milk, and tree sap. The spicy taste is like hot medicine.
