Arising from the mother. Homage to the feet of the great Jetsün Repa, the protector of beings, the ornament of Jambudvipa, the source of qualities, the jewel on the crown, the essence of nectar that ripens those to be tamed. In the experience of the yoga of the mind, in the space before me, Jetsün appeared and spoke these words, the lion's roar of the Mahāmudrā of union, the meaning of the indivisibility of samsara and nirvana: Since here, on this side, samsara is not established, there, on the other side, nirvana does not exist. Mind, without duality of samsara and nirvana, free from desire and attachment, that undifferentiated union is the great Mahāmudrā. Since here, on this side, appearance is not established, there, on the other side, emptiness does not exist. Mind, without duality of appearance and emptiness, free from attachment and aversion, that very meaning, of one taste, is the great Mahāmudrā. Since here, on this side, arising is not established, there, on the other side, cessation does not exist. Mind, without duality of arising and ceasing, free from abiding, that continuous flow of the three times is the great Mahāmudrā. Since here, on this side, coming is not established, there, on the other side, going does not exist. Mind, without duality of going and coming, free from place, that co-emergent wisdom is the great Mahāmudrā. Since here, on this side, gathering is not established, there, on the other side, separation does not exist. Mind, without duality of gathering and scattering, free from grasping at things, that original self-liberation is the great Mahāmudrā. Since here, on this side, suffering is not established, there, on the other side, happiness does not exist. Mind, without duality of happiness and suffering, free from elaboration, that absence of self-grasping is the great Mahāmudrā. Since here, on this side, birth is not established, there, on the other side, death does not exist. Mind, without birth and death, free from mental constructs, that very vajra body is the great Mahāmudrā. Since here, on this side, attachment is not established, there, on the other side, obstruction does not exist. Mind, without attachment or obstruction, free from reliance, that spontaneous perfection without object is the great Mahāmudrā. Since here, on this side, the object of grasping is not established, there, on the other side, the grasper does not exist. Mind, without duality of grasper and grasped, free from defilement, that twofold purity is the great Mahāmudrā. Since here, on this side, decline is not established, there, on the other side, clarity does not exist. Mind, without duality of clarity and decline, free from obscuration and veiling, that stainless purity is the great Mahāmudrā. Since here, on this side, fixation is not established, there, on the other side, reliance does not exist. Mind, without duality of fixation and reliance, free from extremes, that non-mentation is the great Mahāmudrā. Since here, on this side, self-grasping is not established, there,

Beyond, there is no other thought. The mind is without self, other, or dualistic grasping. That is the great seal of oneness in multiplicity. Because there are no five paths on this shore, there are no ten grounds on the other shore. The mind is without ground or path, free from going. That is the great seal of entering all at once. Because there is no change on this shore, there is no transference on the other shore. The mind is without transference or change, free from extremes. That is the great seal beyond mind. Because there is nothing to negate on this shore, there is nothing to establish on the other shore. The mind is without negation or establishment, free from attachment. That is the great seal of unceasing luminosity. Because there is nothing to abandon on this shore, there is nothing to take up on the other shore. The mind is without abandoning or taking up, free from clinging. That is the great seal of equality, one taste. Because there is no doubt on this shore, there is no hope on the other shore. The mind is without hope or doubt, free from desire. That is the great seal of non-thought, the Dharmakaya. The eighty-four thousand doors of Dharma, in general, are for the specific thoughts of sentient beings. Because karma and afflictions have their number, thus it is said. That conventional reality is like a dream, arising from cause and effect. I, a yogi like the sky, know that all phenomena are unreal, as mind. The sphere of ultimate meaning is free from the extremes of mental fabrication. Glorious benefit for others will surely arise effortlessly. Having spoken, he ascended into the sky. From then on, knowing appearances to be illusory, whatever the circumstance, he would sing songs, fulfilling his heart's desire. Furthermore, in visions and dreams, blessed by Jetsun Rinpoche and others, given instructions, empowerments, and prophecies, he clearly taught the introduction to appearance and mind, the song of joy and bliss: The sublime and holy gurus of the accomplished ones dissolve into the pure realm of Dharmata. In the appearance of us, their praying children, arise the emanations of compassion and wisdom. Showing appearance as Dharmakaya, this practice is truly joyful. Without negation or affirmation, this bliss is truly blissful. The spontaneously accomplished Yidams dissolve into the expanse of the clear light of Dharmadhatu. In the appearance of us, the yogi practitioners, arise the Sambhogakaya with all the perfect marks and signs. Showing illusion as the moon in water, this practice is truly joyful. Without clarity or dimming, this bliss is truly blissful. The pure Dakinis of self-appearance dissolve into the realm of bliss and emptiness, without defilement.
