Because after encountering, there is karmic connection to be used in future lives, therefore, this Hearing Liberation is: the Dharma of attaining Buddhahood without cultivation, the Dharma of obtaining liberation by merely hearing, the Dharma of leading great sinners onto the shortcut path, the Dharma of distinguishing differences in an instant, the profound Dharma of attaining complete Buddhahood in an instant. With this Dharma, it is impossible for sentient beings it reaches to fall into the lower realms. Proclaiming this Dharma and the Attached Liberation together is like embedding turquoise on a golden mandala, so proclaim it. Having thus explained the necessity of Hearing Liberation, now we will introduce how the Wrathful Bardo manifests: that is, call the name of the deceased three times, and say this: O son/daughter of noble family! Do not be distracted, listen! Because you did not recognize the Peaceful Bardo when it appeared earlier, you are still wandering here. Now on the eighth day, the assembly of Blood-Drinking Wrathful Deities will appear. Do not be distracted, recognize them! O son/daughter of noble family! The one called Great Glorious Buddha Heruka, whose body color is dark bluish-black, with three heads, six arms, and four outstretched legs. The right face is white, the left face is red, and the middle one is dark bluish-black. The body emits a mass of light. The nine eyes gaze with terrifying anger. The eyebrows flicker like lightning. The fangs burn like copper. He proclaims the laughter of "Alala" and "Haha." He emits the sound of "Shau" and a great howling sound. The hair, reddish-yellow, floats upwards and burns. He is adorned on the head with the sun and moon and dry skulls. He is adorned on the body with black snakes and wet skulls. Of the six arms, the first of the right hands holds a wheel, the middle one holds an enemy-subduing staff, and the last one holds a sword. The first of the left hands holds a bell, the middle one holds a skull cup, and the last one holds a plow. The consort Buddha Krodheshvari embraces his body. The right hand embraces the father's neck, and the left hand forces a red conch shell into his mouth. He emits the throat sound "Thug Chom" and a roar like the rumbling of a thousand thunderbolts. From the pores of the burning vajra body, the fire of wisdom blazes. He dwells in a posture of stretching and contracting on a seat lifted by garudas. He will emerge from within your own brain and appear to you directly as he is. Do not be afraid of that! Do not be terrified! Do not be alarmed! Recognize it as the form of your own awareness. Because it is your own yidam deity, do not be afraid! In reality, it is the Bhagavan.

Do not be afraid, as the deceased is the actual form of the parents of Vairochana. Recognition and liberation will come simultaneously. After proclaiming this, if one recognizes them as one's Yidam and merges into non-duality, one will attain Buddhahood in the Sambhogakaya. If one becomes frightened and runs away, failing to recognize them, then on the ninth day, the Blood-Drinking Vajra family will come to greet you. When introducing them, call the deceased by name and say this: O son/daughter of noble family, listen without distraction! On the ninth day, the Blood-Drinking Vajra family, known as Bhagavan Vajra Heruka (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་བཛྲ་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्र हेरुक, Sanskrit Romanization: Vajra Heruka, Literal Chinese Meaning: Vajra Heruka), with a body color of dark blue-black, three faces, six arms, and four outstretched legs. The right face is white, the left is red, and the middle is dark blue-black. Of the six arms, the first on the right holds a vajra, the middle one holds a bhandha (Tibetan: བྷན་དྷ, Sanskrit Devanagari: भनध, Sanskrit Romanization: bhandha, Literal Chinese Meaning: vase), and the last holds an enemy arrow. The first on the left holds a bell, the middle one holds a bhandha (Tibetan: བྷན་དྷ, Sanskrit Devanagari: भनध, Sanskrit Romanization: bhandha, Literal Chinese Meaning: vase), and the last holds a plow. The consort Vajra Krodheshvari embraces the father's body, the right hand moving to embrace, and the left hand feeding a red conch shell into the mouth. Emerging from the east within one's own brain, they will appear to oneself. Do not be afraid of them! Do not be terrified! Do not be alarmed! Recognize them as the form of your own awareness. Do not be afraid, as they are your own Yidam deity. In essence, they are the actual form of Bhagavan Vajrasattva, so generate devotion and respect. Recognition and liberation will come simultaneously. After proclaiming this, if one recognizes them as one's Yidam, merges into non-duality, one will attain Buddhahood in the Sambhogakaya. If those with great karmic obscurations become frightened and run away, failing to recognize them, then on the tenth day, the Blood-Drinking Ratna family will come to greet you. Again, when introducing them, call the deceased by name and say this: O son/daughter of noble family, listen without distraction! On the tenth day, the Blood-Drinking Ratna family, known as Bhagavan Ratna Heruka (Tibetan: རཏྣ་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: रत्न हेरुक, Sanskrit Romanization: Ratna Heruka, Literal Chinese Meaning: Jewel Heruka), with a body color of yellow-black, three faces, six arms, and four outstretched legs. The first on the left holds a bell, the middle one holds a bhandha (Tibetan: བྷན་དྷ, Sanskrit Devanagari: भनध, Sanskrit Romanization: bhandha, Literal Chinese Meaning: vase), and the last holds a trident.
