Similarly, at this time, one should perform the virtuous act of liberating lives, offer feasts to sentient beings in the animal realm, and contemplate the truth of Dharma. This is a good time for recitation. Releasing lives should be done in times of peace, offering feasts to animals should be done in times of turmoil, and practice should be done in times of chaos. Those who act in this way will attain the qualities of a Nirmanakaya (emanation body). This is the first part. Second, when an earthquake occurs, one should not move oneself, visualize oneself as the white father-mother deity subduing the Maras (demons), and visualize a three-pronged vajra (diamond scepter) marked with Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hūṃ) on one's tongue. Recite it six or seven times, and through one's own sound and light, pacify all calamities and harms, and be liberated from them. This should be done in times of chaos. For yogis who hold vows, it should be done when the practice is complete. That is, male and female yogis practicing together for one year will complete the practice. In times of turmoil, feasts should be offered to the public; in times of suffering, deities should be invited from their respective abodes. As the scripture says: 'If an earthquake occurs, recite this six or seven times, or five or three times, with the vajra tongue. Practice should be done when the practice is complete. Yogis who hold supreme vows should offer feasts in this way. Recitation should be done when the practice is complete, and feasts should be done in times of turmoil. Yogis, in times of suffering, should invite deities from their respective abodes.' Through such excellent practice, yogis will truly enter the path of liberation, and be equal to Vajradhara (Diamond Holder). Third, when light appears, visualize oneself as the yellow Ratnasambhava (Jewel-born) father-mother deity, holding jewels with the supreme mudra (hand gesture), and visualize a conch shell on one's tongue, reciting it five, three, or one time. Through one's own sound, let the light pervade all of space, accomplishing all wishes and being liberated from them. This should be done in times of peace. When practicing, one should practice wind yoga, and in times of turmoil, feasts should be offered to nine or eleven Dakinis (female spiritual practitioners). As the scripture says: 'When light appears, recite it five, three, or one time with the conch shell tongue. Dakinis who hold vows should offer feasts of coarse food to nine or eleven Dakinis. Recitation should be done in times of peace, wind yoga should be done in times of practice, and feasts should be done in times of turmoil.' Yogis who act in this way will become emanations. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
