6-173 In times of equanimity, in times of disturbance, in times of recitation, and in times of suffering, perform feasts. The noble one who does this will obtain the qualities of a Nirmanakaya (emanation body). Seventh, when famine occurs, visualize Samantabhadra (Universal Good) and Samantabhadri (Universal Good Woman) in dark blue, radiating light from their samadhi (meditative absorption), with a half-moon vajra (diamond scepter) with three points appearing on their tongues. While doing this, recite two, three, or five times, pacifying harm through light and sound, and contemplate attaining the state of enlightenment. Offer torma (ritual cake) during times of equanimity, summon butchers or heretics during times of disturbance, and perform feasts during times of suffering. From this, it is known: When famine occurs, reciting this with the khatvanga (skull staff) tongue will hold the qualities of a Nirmanakaya. Recite five, three, or two times. At this time, make offerings of incense. It is highly praised to perform feasts for butchers or heretics. Recite during times of recitation, offer during times of equanimity, recite during times of sinful disturbance, and similarly, perform feasts during times of suffering. This will also plant the seed of a Nirmanakaya. Eighth, when livestock disease occurs, contemplate Kuntuzangmo (Samantabhadri) as being inseparable from the father (Samantabhadra), and during times of suffering, recite eight or sixteen times, pacifying worldly livestock diseases and so forth through light and one's own sound, and contemplate attaining Buddhahood. Offer butter lamps during times of recitation, invite Arhats (worthy ones) during times of equanimity, or if not available, invite the root guru. Perform feasts during times of disturbance. From this, it is known: When livestock disease occurs in the kingdom, this self-arisen great letter, recite eight or sixteen times, reciting this with the three-pointed tongue. At this time, offer light, and also perform feasts for the seven Arhats, highly praised. Recite during times of suffering, offer during times of recitation, summon Arhats during times of equanimity, and perform feasts during times of disturbance. The person who does this will definitely plant the seed of a Nirmanakaya. There should be no doubt about this, and one will definitely obtain excellent results. 45-6-174 Furthermore, the times of recitation, suffering, and so forth are calculated here by considering day and night as a single unit. That is, during the daytime, recitation is done from dawn until late morning. Then, before noon, it is suffering. Noon is equanimity. From the arrival of shade until sunset is disturbance. At night, dusk is recitation, after dusk is suffering, midnight is equanimity, and dawn is disturbance. Thus, whichever part of day or night these signs occur, combine them with the sequence of recitation and perform recitation, contemplation, and summoning. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And, the Tsok (Ganachakra, feast gathering) should be performed. The methods of these meditations have been arranged as described in the key texts. Furthermore, on the eighth, tenth, and twenty-fifth days of each month, both day and night, set up the Tsok and Torma (sacrificial cake), gather the yogis who uphold their vows, recite together, and enjoy the Tsok, thereby increasing the experience, generating realization and Samadhi (concentration), fulfilling all broken vows, and reciting at auspicious times to accomplish all wishes. The method of recitation can be learned from the postscript of Vimala's Yangti. The benefits are: merely wearing it on the body, merit increases a hundred thousand times, and no disease, demon, or obstacle can invade. Wherever it is, it becomes a Stupa (reliquary), and Dakinis (sky dancers) and others will make offerings and grant accomplishments. It cannot be shaken by the attacks of outsiders, and the manifestation of wisdom increases, thereby grasping the root of awareness, recognizing oneself in the Bardo (intermediate state), and accomplishing the Bodhi (enlightenment) of the Buddha, etc. As the 'Only Son of the Buddha' said: 'This is also the Buddha-nature of beings.' And as 'Determining the Key to Time' says: 'Merely wearing this, one becomes a Buddha, what doubt is there?' Moreover, even if someone other than a yogi wears it, they can still be liberated. As it says: 'Whether it is an animal, a woman, or a lower being, as long as they do not separate from this, they will surely attain the fruit of the Trikaya (three bodies of Buddha).' And 'If this is tied around the neck of an animal, it will also be liberated, what need is there to mention humans?' Whoever sees this is a fortunate being, a lineage capable of liberation. Even if one wants everyone to see it, those without enough merit cannot see it. As it says: 'Therefore, this secret word is not easily encountered by the masses. Only a qualified, fortunate person can see this, not everyone can see it.' Even if the sentient being who encounters this appears to be an illusion, that is only due to temporary karma. The essence of awareness is not established in good or bad beings, therefore encountering this karma leads to liberation, and liberation in the four awarenesses. Some fools say, 'If wearing it liberates an animal, then wouldn't it be enough to wear it for all beings? But what is the sign of liberation? The body has not changed.' This statement is a wrong view, the teaching of demons, merely knowing some words, and is a speculative type without merit. This is the true great lineage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
