To accomplish this, many deity, mantra, samadhi, and substance practices are taught in the precious tantras, and the method by which yogis accomplish the two benefits is extremely wonderful. In general, the main goal pursued by an individual seeking enlightenment is the state of omniscience, so the essence is distilled into the path of supreme accomplishment. As the supreme ones have said, one should not make the common four activities and especially the stages of the path of direct perception the main focus, but rather abide in the meaning, and especially in the practice of this lineage, all the profound points of the generation and completion stage instructions are essentially condensed into antidotes to self-grasping and afflictions. Even though it is certainly important to learn that one should not mainly perform fierce protections, repulsions, killings, and suppressions with ordinary motivations of attachment and aversion, in this extremely degenerate age, most practitioners are controlled by obstacles, and when demons, oath-breakers, and dark forces are rampant, Guru Rinpoche, out of love for the beings to be tamed in Tibet, specially considered this single antidote of deity and mantra. This is not about extensive practices of substances and mandalas, but the essential core of profound samadhi is grasped by love and compassion. For those who have faith and trust in the deity, guru, and mantra, and who have completed the recitation and practice with the life force of realization, this is an indispensable activity, so it should definitely be practiced for the benefit of oneself and others. Moreover, this is like the essence of the three aspects of the Eight Commands combined, so it can be applied to the activities explained therein, as stated by the omniscient lama himself, according to Dorje Drakchen Jigme Trinley Ozer. In general, for all mantra activities, and especially for direct perception, one must know the practice of the three: fortress, defile, and life force. Fortress is the view; if one has grasped the fortress of a confident view, one will not fear anything, because one has secured one's own permanent position. All phenomena of samsara and nirvana are contained within one's own mind. One's own mind is without arising or ceasing, and recognizing this through the natural wisdom and the guru's instructions is grasping the fortress of the view. If one does not learn through experience on top of the view, merely understanding the words will not help, so one must practice.

To traverse the perilous path of samsara, it is crucial to cultivate view and practice in accordance with reality. Even Vajrasattva has not said that one can attain Buddhahood without practice. If view and practice reach their peak, one gains the power to control all transcendent dharmas, thereby slaying through action. This is the ultimate intent of the Yogic Empowerment Holder; if it reaches its peak, one can slay the three secret enemies, destroy the four fearsome maras, and sever the precipice of the six realms of samsara. These key points are explained in the 'Kagyu Dzongtrang,' so be sure to understand them. The actual key point lies in the root recitation manual, as stated in the Vajra words spoken by the omniscient one himself. Generally, all the stages of recitation and practice are explained in detail in the recitation manual, so I will not elaborate here due to the effort of writing. Specifically, the four branches of recitation and practice can correspond to the preliminary, main, and concluding parts of a single activity ritual, as well as the application to the paths of recitation, mantra repetition, completion stage, and the four vidyadharas, among other terms. Here, I will only briefly explain their meaning, as stated in the 'Great Bliss Face-to-Face Instructions': For the sake of teaching self-sons and other-sons, through the power of compassion and the power of wisdom, from the wheel of wisdom mudra, the first thing to do is recitation, learning to recognize all phenomena of appearance and existence, samsara and nirvana, the five aggregates, the eighteen elements, and the twelve sense bases, as the pure mandala of the deity. Therefore, I manifest the Tathagata as a son. The second is approaching the wisdom of the deity itself, which is close recitation, ripening one's own mind-stream through its blessings, thereby learning to realize the unsurpassed wisdom. Just as gold undergoes the four processes of smelting, cutting, polishing, and grinding, repeatedly familiarizing oneself with the nature, oneself becomes the son of the Tathagata. The third is practice, through the familiarity of the generation and completion stages, with the power of immeasurable great compassion, accomplishing the benefit of all beings, entering into the great vows, this is the Tathagata making me as his own son. The fourth is great practice, relying on the great two accumulations, entering into the mandala of the gathering offering for the benefit of oneself and others, thereby manifesting the qualities of abandonment and realization, spontaneously accomplishing the two benefits, this is the Tathagata making oneself as a son. Thus, through the four branches of recitation and practice, from the playful displays and miracles, arises samadhi.
