He lived at the foot of the mountain. His name was widely known, and he seemed to be called Lama Use. I am also going there. Stonpa (the teacher) said, 'Lama Use is very famous, and I also wanted to go there, but I heard that you had already left, and I was afraid that I would not be able to finish listening to the Dharma, so I stayed.' The yogi said, 'Have you not seen the scriptures? For the sake of just one disciple to be tamed, the Thubpa (Buddha) can remain in the world for a kalpa, and can also quickly bring them to maturity, just like warm and moist sprouts.' The sutra says that if you pray for the benefit of others, the Buddhas can also remain in the world for a kalpa. Therefore, do not lose faith and reverence, go quickly, and come back after the Dharma assembly is over.' Stonpa was very happy after hearing this, and asked him for the secret. That yogi borrowed a book written in Groga La from an Acharya, explained it to Stonpa, and gave him the book, saying, 'This is a profound secret that can liberate the four lineages, blessings, and energies. Do not easily show it to others, and come to me later if you have the opportunity.' After saying that, he left. Stonpa returned to his room, thinking of teaching the Dharma the next morning. As soon as he greeted him, the caretaker said, 'After you left, all the yogis said that they had inquired everywhere, but no one had seen or heard of him.' Stonpa was therefore convinced. After being convinced, Stonpa went back and forth to the guru many times. In the middle of the summer month of the Dog Year, he went to Tölung Tsurphu Monastery, and when he left in the autumn, the guru told all the monks about his previous experiences. Stonpa thought to himself whether that yogi had also come here before. The guru said, 'You can do this tomorrow morning.' So Stonpa did not hesitate to prepare the offerings for the Tsok in the room of the Khampa leader Drak Seng, and invited Rinpoche, Lama Tag Deuba, Geshe Könchok Senge, practitioner Tsultrim Gyalpo, and about ten old monks. In the row of the Tsok, he asked Rinpoche to tell the previous events. Rinpoche told the previous experiences in detail, and everyone was very surprised. Stonpa asked, 'Who are the three Acharyas?' Rinpoche replied, 'They are Indra Bodhi of the middle rank, Shinglopa, and the Black Practitioner. The one who taught you the Dharma was me. I asked Indra Bodhi for that secret. The chief of the Tsok in India was the Black Practitioner. You are my disciple of the fourth generation, and we have met five times so far. It is good for you to listen to and teach the Dharma. If we do not meet this time, your explanation will deviate from the right path, so you must cut off your doubts.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He said, 'I came here for the purpose of meditation.' Forty-ninth: Geshe Takde asked Geshe Tsangso how he had seen four incarnations. Geshe Tsangso said, 'In the past, in India, when I was born as the blacksmith Ratnaśīla, I was a student of yours who generated bodhicitta.' Seventieth: 'After that, when you were born in the northern part of this continent, you were my attendant.' Seventy-first: 'After that, when you were born as Metokpa Sherab Zangpo in the Body Mountain, I taught the six dharmas of Tun Prajña.' Seventy-second: 'In the previous life before this one, when I was born as the Brahmin Gyalwa Sherab on the shore of the Indian Thangkhob Sea, I fully conferred the four empowerments upon you. Because you were skilled in the scriptures and left imprints in meditation, it is now easier to generate certainty in meditation.' Seventy-third: Rinpoche said, 'The king of Minyak, some think he is the incarnation of Geshe Langri Tangpa, but he is not. He is the incarnation of the yogi Matanggi. The necessity of being born as a king is to benefit the father king, to lead the people of that kingdom to virtuous deeds, and to release many prisoners imprisoned by the king, who will become disciples in the future.' Again, he said to Geshe Tsangpo, 'You should go to the kingdom of Minyak and meditate on Mount Hala Shan, and you will also benefit many beings.' Seventy-fourth: Rinpoche said, 'There are four reasons why I came to Ü-Tsang: The teacher Gompa said, 'Come up from Kham'; I intended to offer a hundred volumes to Gampopa; I intended to build a monastery here between Zhuchur; and I was displeased to hear that Lama Zhang Tshalpa was causing disputes, so I came to mediate.' Having said this, he went to Tshal and settled the dispute. At that time, Lama Zhang Tshalpa saw many pure visions of Rinpoche, and happily took his hand and danced. Until Tshalpa passed away, he did not cause any more disputes. Seventy-fifth: One night in Tsurphu, I dreamed that I went from Ngari to Surig, and then went up to the border Bhutan, where I met two yogi masters and disciples. When I asked who they were, they said they were Indrabodhi. I prayed and requested teachings, and they taught me the sadhana of the thirteen-deity Vajravarahi, including the ritual. Seventy-sixth: One night in Tsurphu, I directly saw the thirteen-deity Vajravarahi and her retinue, surrounded by thirty-six dakinis. I had the artist Garton Horpo paint such a thangka. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
