Being named as "the person with..." is because there is no dharma that applies universally. Taking the fruit as the path refers to the fruit of meaning that does not revert, like the fruit of the soapberry tree. At this time, the king grasps the essential point and does not change, for example, a child of the royal family receives empowerment from the crown of the head and seizes the throne, not changing, likewise, awareness itself seizes its own ground. Subjugating the populace and not changing is like a king subjugating the populace and remaining on the throne, the basis for the arising of the five consciousnesses is emptiness, therefore there is no eye of samsara. Imprisoning the ministers and not changing: for example, if the king's ministers are imprisoned, the king is also in danger; likewise, the movement of mental conceptualization ceases, and awareness gains autonomy. If that fruit is named, it is called the fruit of self-nature purity. It does not arise from the effort of action, but because the meaning of primordial purity arises in the continuum, it is called a fruit. Its instruction is that by keeping awareness still, where does that fruit come from? It comes from placing awareness itself on top of whatever appears and arises. Its meaning is that all three realms are pure, because one's own body, speech, and mind have no karma, habitual tendencies, or conceptualizations, therefore all three realms are pure. At this time, afflictions are naturally liberated, like a snake's knot unraveling on its own. Likewise, afflictions have no chance to arise, and are naturally liberated into dharmata. At that time, that person is called one who has transcended dharma. Separated from the knowledge that grasps at samsara and nirvana. These are to be practiced by those with minds that have objects, for the sake of those who delight in the elaboration of meaning. Now, showing what is to be practiced by those with minds of awareness's own appearance, there are two: Trekchö and Tögal. Trekchö is when realization manifestly occurs in an instant to this very thing that is unrelated to appearance. Practicing Tögal is to first perfect the four empowerments, and then by either of the two methods of accomplishment above, the instructions have two parts: preliminary and main practice. First, to do the three practices of distinguishing samsara and nirvana: first, to do the practice of distinguishing the body.

When the sign is reached, perform the action of distinguishing speech; when that sign is reached, perform the action of distinguishing mind. These have supreme necessity and common necessity, two each, making six. Then perform three relaxations: when the body is relaxed, there is a need to increase the aggregates, elements, sense bases, and bodhicitta; then when speech is relaxed, it will transform into unadorned meaning, and there is a need for the exhaustion of verbal discrimination; then when the mind is relaxed, there is a need to be liberated from the objects of thought's attachment. Then the main practice, how the meaning of non-leakage relies on the yogi's continuum, there are four: first, pressing the key points of body, speech, and mind; then, relying on the three key points, how the meaning of the manifest reality of dharmata relies on the yogi's continuum; how appearances arise from it; and the final pith instructions. First, the key point of the body should not deviate from the three postures. That is, the wisdom of awareness resides in the body; if the key point of the body is not pressed, it will not manifest; for example, just as if the limbs of an illusion are not controlled, they cannot be seen. Then, cut off speech; this should also be properly learned in stages, first learning for short periods, then learning for long periods; sometimes, even when there is no need to speak, speak. Then, what remains is: do not prohibit one's own speech, such as mantras, praises, sutras, etc.; do not utter even a single word to others; at that time, do not even make a bodily gesture. By doing so, the inexpressible meaning will certainly arise in the continuum. The wise Vimalamitra said: "Whatever a yogi can cut off, he can practice Dharma." The key point of the mind, at all times, should not be separated from the three key points. That is, at the key point of the door, do not be separated from the three ways of looking. At the key point of the object, do not be separated from the outer sphere of space. The inner sphere, place awareness on the perfectly pure lamp. At the key point of the wind, by all means, rely on slowness, and projecting outwards for a long distance is key. At the key point of awareness, it is to imprison the stream of awareness. There are also three ways: first, when the lama bestows initiation on the disciple, the way of giving face-to-face instruction and oral transmission, and giving guidance, and giving thorough cleansing.
