After the empowerment, the essence of mind was thoroughly seen. At that time, the two great scholars were both over a hundred years old, one hundred and three hundred years old respectively. They bestowed the first empowerment, including the key instructions and rituals of the three cycles of the Kalachakra. Secondly, they bestowed the tantra lineage of the unsurpassed secret. Thirdly, they bestowed all the oral instructions of these. Fourthly, they bestowed all the essential points of the spoken 'Heart Essence' without omission. For fourteen years, the instructions were refined. At that time, nine hundred and ninety-four years had passed since the Buddha's passing into nirvana. At that time, the Wisdom Deity also demonstrated the manner of completely passing into nirvana without any remainder, the sky was filled with light, and he departed. Vimalamitra fainted and fell to the ground. When he awoke from his faint, he saw the lama sitting in the center of a mass of light in the sky, the entire space filled with divine umbrellas, banners, and flags, and the entire earth filled with various kinds of gods and humans. He uttered a lament of grief: "Alas, how sad! The light of the teacher's lamp has faded, who will dispel the darkness of the world?" As he said this, he extended his right arm from the elbow down, and in the palm of Vimala's right hand, he placed a jewel box filled with five kinds of precious gems. As soon as it landed, Vimala himself, like pouring from one full vase into another, had no excess or deficiency in words, and no error in meaning. He makes the immature mature, and opens the place of the charnel ground. ཨཐྎ༔ (Tibetan, Devanagari, athah, literal meaning in Chinese) སྱ་མྱ་སྱ་སཾ༔ (Tibetan, Devanagari, sya mya sya sam, literal meaning in Chinese) Surrounded by the assembly of dakinis, entering the correct path, widely liberating from all fears, I pay homage to the departed holy Buddha. Then, the scholar Vimalamitra stayed in the city of Kamaru in eastern India as the object of offerings for King Simhasana for twenty years. At that time, he lived in a bamboo cool room, and even without food and clothing, he stayed for the sake of the king's offerings and so on. That king, too, through the blessing of the scholar-teacher, naturally entered into meditation, or had perfect retinues and enjoyments, or even just the country, was endowed with auspicious signs. Then, he went to the city of Bi Jaya in western India.

Invited the king named Dharmapala to preach the Dharma, and requested the Dharma teaching in order to accumulate offerings from the inner and western kings. After that, five hundred yojanas to the north, there is a charnel ground called "Radiantly Shining," and in the middle of a very dense forest, there is a meadow of one yojana. In the center of that meadow, there is a stupa called "Victorious Destroyer of Samsara," made of iron, with steps made of copper, turquoise, and gold. On the lotus jewel seat is a bamboo spire, the vase is made of dark blue gemstones, the tray is made of exquisite jewels, the wheels are made of thirteen different kinds of jewels, and the umbrella is made of a complex structure of various jewels. The sun, moon, coral, and so on, all arise from the great self-nature purity. At the end of that stupa, there is a pool of water where the dragon cubs purify themselves by bathing. To the southwest of that stupa is the abode of a worldly deity, shaped like a pile of bamboo, with a net surrounding the inside, and on top of a platform like a turquoise mandala, there is yellow color like scattered gold sand. Above the clouds, inside a dark blue tent, resides the dragon king named "Earth Protector," with a yellow complexion, seven snake heads on his head, and a wish-fulfilling jewel in the center of the crest. He holds a vase and a snake lasso in his two hands, rides a blue makara, and is surrounded by the eight classes of dragons. He always harms sentient beings. In that charnel ground, some dakinis are red, combing their blood-red hair and blowing conch shells; some ride red mules, wear turquoise armor, and hold corpses in their hands; some ride tigers, have white faces and garuda wings, and hold vases filled with jewels in their hands; some are rakshasis, with disheveled hair, riding naked women giving birth, with reddish-white complexions, holding white umbrellas, and reciting mantras from their mouths, and so on. There are countless real dakinis. Here, due to the power of the dakinis' own nature, the corpses of other realms also naturally gather here, some eating flesh, some drinking blood, some gnawing bones, and some eating hearts and livers.
