E! Having perfected the four branches of approach and accomplishment, spontaneously abiding in the nature of self. Thus it is said. The Guhyagarbha Tantra says: From any of the ten directions and four times, the perfect Buddha cannot be found. Mind itself is the perfect Buddha, do not seek another Buddha elsewhere. Even if you search, the Buddhas will not find it. Thus it is said. The Kunjed Gyalpo says: Mind is the reality as it is, all phenomena are accomplished in suchness. Do not alter suchness. Do not strive for anything other than the essence. Those who seek will not find it in the realm of the Buddhas. Since it has already been done, there is no need to do it now. Since it has already been accomplished, do not accomplish it now, but rest in non-thought and non-contemplation. Thus it is said. The Hevajra Tantra says: In the nature of non-elaboration, deities and mantras are completely present. Thus it is said. Furthermore, all mantras, mudras, samayas, and self-nature are perfected in the dharmata touched by the king of supreme mindfulness. In the Sadhana of the Suchness of Glorious Naropa, it also says: The wordless is the essence of speech, abiding in the noble bodhicitta. The king's samaya is uncreated, protected by the way of no protection. On the immutable mudra, seal with the immutable meaning. In the mandala without beginning or end, wisdom is clear without self-nature. The nature beyond thought is the mind of the Buddhas, not departing from bodhicitta. Thus it is said. Similarly, it also fully explains the aspect of conduct of the causal vehicle. It says: Because it has the meaning of the essence of thatness, do not incline the mind to the accumulation of desires. Likewise, the six paramitas abide in the self-born, perfect mind. In the view of non-thought and non-discrimination, it possesses the six paramitas of thatness. Abiding in the way of non-discrimination and non-grasping, the uninterrupted awareness continues. The wisdom paramita of non-existence. Thus, and so on, it is widely spoken of elsewhere, but here it is only this much. Precisely because of this, the basis of the view of the suchness of this abiding is the nature of no object, free from all conflicting thoughts, free from the conflicting objects, free from the ignorance of the subject, thereby uprooting the seeds of samsara, which is called the view of the equality of the three times.

Its nature transcends the realm of the eight consciousnesses, including thoughts, speech, cause, and effect, and abides in the wisdom of the self-perfected Great Perfection of awareness and dharmata. As it is said, the noble teacher states: "What is abandoned by worldly people is said to be the ultimate truth." Its commentary states: "That which is not inverted is not understood by ordinary worldly people, and cannot be conceived by any means. It is beyond the reach of the mind, not an object of the senses, and is abandoned because it is not seen by the darkness of the cataract of ignorance. The ultimate truth is the object seen by the wisdom of the extremely sharp senses of the noble ones." As it is said, the truth of the noble ones is experienced by the self-cognizant wisdom of each individual, free from the duality of grasping and being grasped. The ultimate truth, the correct view, emptiness of emptiness, great emptiness, and so forth, whatever is designated by names, is the general form of wisdom that corresponds to the dharmakaya of all the Buddhas. In the Noble Cloud of Jewels Sutra, it is said: "This Dharma is completely beyond all letters, completely beyond all speech, completely beyond the realm of all words, completely beyond the path of all language, free from all elaboration, free from all acceptance and rejection, free from all opening and closing, free from all discrimination, not permanent, not the realm of discrimination, completely beyond the realm of discrimination. Without characteristics, therefore free from characteristics, completely beyond the realm of characteristics. Completely beyond the realm of children, completely beyond the realm of all demons, completely beyond the realm of all afflictions, completely beyond the realm of all consciousnesses. Non-abiding, not abiding, peaceful, it is the realm of the wisdom of the noble ones. Those self-cognizant, immaculate, unstained, pure, rich, supreme, sacred, excellent, constant, stable, solid, and indestructible dharmata. Whether the Tathagatas appear or do not appear, this dharmadhatu is only abiding." As it is said, the Great Perfection of all words...

Thus, it perfectly demonstrates the truth of original purity. The reason for calling it "Great Perfection" is that self-arisen wisdom is without limitation or bias, and all the objects of all vehicles abide in one essence and are complete, or because all pure dharmas, without being deliberately speculated upon by the grasping of consciousness, are perfected in the nature of awareness in an instant. In the *Kunjed Gyalpo Tantra* it says: "One perfection, two perfections, perfected in mind. One perfection, perfected in what is done by mind. Two perfections, perfected in perfect abundance. All perfections, perfected in bodhicitta." Also, in the *Sutra Requested by Blo-gros rGya-mtsho* it says: "Those who have these pure and undefiled teachings, and turn the wheel of the Dharma of the perfect bodhicitta, their supreme bodhicitta is utterly pure, and will never be stained by the defilements of affliction. If the sky could be afflicted by afflictions, then it would be possible to show its traces, but the self-luminous, perfect bodhicitta can never be afflicted." As such, the Great Perfection, the nature of the dharmata, luminous bodhicitta, flawlessly reveals the essence of original purity. Similarly, in the *Nirvana Sutra*, it also says: "Furthermore, what is called 'truth' is the middle way of the world. What is called 'perfection' is that in the end, by diligently practicing the middle way, one knows the definitive, unsurpassed, true perfection." This statement indicates that the former is established by the inference of reason, while the latter, because it is not an object of consciousness, actually abides in the intention of the noble path itself. Ati Yoga, in terms of etymology, "Ati" means extreme, that is, supreme, best, excellent, ultimate, and essence. "Yoga" is union, and because it is the ultimate of all unions, it is the extreme union. It itself is the essence of all completion stages, so there is no higher practice than it. It is precisely because it directly reveals the unborn nature of reality, which is as profound and difficult to fathom as the sky, that it is indicated by the word "Great." The Blessed One said: "To teach the Dharma that is as inconceivable as the sky is extremely great." This is also the etymology of this word.
