The profound meditation is the yoga of the three lineages of pure conventional truth, namely, the deity of emptiness, the deity of letters, the deity of sound, the deity of form, the deity of mudra, and the deity of signs. These six, either clearly or unclearly, visualize oneself as the deity, and with the wisdom deity as the lord and oneself as the retinue, accomplish the desired siddhi. As the "Self-Arisen Tantra" says: "Deity and yoga, both are pure, view as lord and servant, thus contemplate." In terms of conduct, one pleases the deity through ascetic practices such as bathing, purification, and fasting, and abides in vows and compliant actions. The essence of recitation is sound, mind, and base, with the mind focused on these. The essence of meditation is as follows: "Secret mantra dwells in fire, granting siddhi; sound dwells in yoga, granting accomplishment; the end of sound, bestowing liberation." Thus, it is said to be threefold. The result of using these as the path is that one temporarily obtains retinues equal to the desired deity, accomplishes the Vidyadhara of Khechara, and relying on that basis, engages in mantra practices. Relying on the proximate cause, one ultimately manifests the ground of Vajradhara of the three lineages described here. As the "Essential Tantra" says: "In seven lifetimes, one attains enlightenment, the protectors of the three families subdue beings." Thus it is said. The scriptural collections that teach these include the "Good Arm Tantra," the "Tara Arising Tantra," the "Samaya Three Kings Tantra," and the "Subduing Bhuta Tantra," among others. If divided by lineage, there are six types: the Tathagata lineage, the Padma lineage, the Vajra lineage, the Ratna lineage, the Karma lineage, and the Loka lineage. Within each of these, there are distinctions such as the chief of the lineage, the lord, the mother, the crown, the wrathful deity, the wrathful mother, the messenger, the female messenger, the male attendant, and the female attendant. If these are summarized, they can be categorized into mantra and vidya-mantra. The second is Upaya, which is practiced like the view of yoga and the action of conduct, and is therefore called the equal division tantra and the dual division tantra, serving as a connection between the two. As the "Self-Arisen Tantra" says: "Upaya is like this, the view is seen as yoga, the conduct is practiced as action, therefore it is known as the dual tantra." Based on these views and conduct, meditation is practiced with signs, letters, mudras, and forms.

Thus, the deities are meditated upon with certainty, and samadhi is stabilized through focused practice. In the Abhisamayalankara, it is said: 'Letters combine with letters, Likewise, base becomes base, By thoroughly subduing the mind, One should recite a hundred thousand times.' Furthermore, by becoming accustomed to resting the mind in the ultimate state of formless yoga, one achieves temporary results such as the accomplishment of the body of a vidyadhara. Moreover, by relying on this and practicing the conduct of mantra, one ultimately attains the state of Vajradhara of the four families in five lifetimes, or if delayed, in three or one kalpa. As it is said in the Galpo: 'Abides in the state of Vajradhara of the four families.' These are the sutras that teach these, such as the Abhisamayalankara and the Vajrapani Abhisheka. The third is called Yoga, which means union. Teacher Kunga Nyingpo said: 'This tantra of Yoga mainly teaches meditation, therefore it teaches recitation according to one's liking.' Also, in the condensed meaning of the Reality Manifestation, it is said: 'This tantra mainly teaches the meditation of samadhi, therefore it is called the tantra of Yoga.' As it is said, the view is that in the ultimate sense, all phenomena are the nature of luminosity, free from elaboration, and the blessing of wisdom that realizes emptiness. In the relative sense, one desires to accomplish the result through the effort of good and bad thoughts by viewing the deity of the Vajradhatu mandala. As it is said in the Lamrim: 'Not understanding spontaneous equality, The blessing of the pure wisdom of the Dharmakaya, The deity manifested in the Vajradhatu, Is the place of action for accepting and rejecting.' As such, the meditation is the sequence related to the four mudras, the five Abhisamayas, and the sequence of the four yogas. Meditating on oneself as the deity with retinue is the yoga of means, and realizing the suchness of mind, individually placing the self-aware wisdom equally, etc., mainly focusing on the inner samadhi. The conduct relies on external circumstances such as cleanliness as an aid, so one achieves temporary results such as the Khechara Vidyadhara. Ultimately, in three or sixteen lifetimes, having accomplished the Mahamudra, one gradually becomes enlightened in the land of dense array of the five families through the five Abhisamayas, becoming a Buddha in the essence of the five wisdoms.
