Saying that they have the same meaning, etc., all the establishments of the three natures made in all the great Madhyamaka treatises, all of these, are not in the Madhyamaka system, but are unique to the Cittamātra system. Those who say this have simply not seen those treatises. Furthermore, the Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra says: "Relying on mind-only, one does not examine external objects. Relying on the absence of appearance, one should transcend mind-only. Relying on the correct antidote, one should transcend from the absence of appearance. When the yogi dwells in the absence of appearance, he does not see the Great Vehicle." This means that in some cases, it is first shown as mind-only, and ultimately, by truly transcending from that, the absence-of-appearance Madhyamaka is proclaimed, and by transcending even from that, the appearance-and-absence Madhyamaka is proclaimed. If one does not reach that stage, one cannot see the profound meaning of the Great Vehicle. In general, it is also a mistake to say that everything spoken of with the word "mind" is mind-only. Because, the Tathāgatagarbha, Suchness, the ultimate limit, the naturally Nirvāṇa, the Dharmadhātu, the mind of clear light, the mind of Samantabhadra, etc., for the places that are free from all extremes, there are cases where the word "mind" is used to indicate them. As the Extensive Mother Sūtra says: "Subhūti, that mind is not mind, the nature of mind is clear light." This means that the mind of clear light that is spoken of is beyond the mind and mental factors of Saṃsāra, and should not be mistaken for mind-only that has not transcended the Ālayavijñāna. The characteristic of the latter is, as the Sūtra says: "The connection of the habits of discrimination, various mental factors arise, the appearance of external objects from people, is the mind-only of worldly people." Therefore, the difference between the mind-only of the world and that which transcends the world is shown, which has the same meaning as the difference between the Ālayavijñāna and wisdom previously explained. Similarly, for those that are explained in the extremely profound Great Vehicles with other names that have the meaning of "mind," it is also necessary to understand them in the same way. Moreover, the realm of non-leakage, the realm of inconceivability, the virtue of ultimate truth, the unchanging and stable nature of Dharma, the truth in the reality of ultimate truth, the body that is primordially liberated, being free from all elaborations of the four extremes, abandoning the two selves, etc., the collection of qualities that are inseparable from the Dharmakāya of the Great Buddha, like the sands of the Ganges River.

Those who have passed away are also vastly different from the worldly Mind-Only proponents because they abide in the spontaneously accomplished state that is far beyond the nature of consciousness. In general, those whose wisdom is the measure, without leaning to any side, consider that both lineages of emptiness, relying on their respective chariot traditions, are no different in abiding in the Middle Way, which is the pinnacle of the four definitive tenets, because in both cases, there is no difference between existence and true existence. When explaining the definitive meaning, the great teachers Nagarjuna and Asanga, who were prophesied by the Buddhas, have clearly elucidated it in their respective treatises. In accordance with this, the omniscient Ratnakara Shanti, Sthiramati, Suvarnadvipa, and Jowo Je, etc., during the time of debate, also said so. The teacher Simhabhadra also acknowledged that when explaining the meaning of the Ornament, "This unique non-dual wisdom is indeed the nature of true existence," this is determined because it is considered to be any of the meditative yoga of the third stage of the Yoga Ground or the order of arising from thought. Furthermore, the recognition of Suchness is explained as wisdom, and in the explanation of the Essence Body (Svabhavikakaya), the remaining three bodies of the state are explained as Dharmata. Therefore, the emptiness directly taught from the intermediate turning of the wheel, in order to cut off the innate ego-grasping in the minds of sentient beings, as well as the view of self newly established by the tenets of the heretics, and the clinging to the elaborations of the tenets of the self-affirming school, it is considered that only the negation of meaning is a non-affirming negation, and that not meditating on anything is meditating on emptiness, and that not seeing anything is realizing Suchness. Therefore, by seeing that and the meaning of that, truly and correctly realizing selflessness, even the difficult-to-destroy view of the object of perception is prevented by the wisdom arising from hearing and thinking. In terms of cutting off elaborations, the wisdom of Svatantrika and Prasangika is sharp, and when establishing it with meditative experience, this Great Madhyamaka system spoken of in the third turning of the wheel is the most profound and vast, because the naturally pure sphere, the ultimate truth, the self-born wisdom itself is all dharmas.
