Thus it is taught: O son of good family, whatever generosity you give, dedicate it all to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. O son of good family, whatever precepts you keep, dedicate them all to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. O son of good family, whatever patience you practice, dedicate it all to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. O son of good family, whatever diligence you undertake, dedicate it all to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. O son of good family, whatever meditative absorption you enter into, dedicate it all to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. O son of good family, whatever wisdom you cultivate, dedicate it all to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. O son of good family, do not conceptualize the Dharma from form to omniscience for unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. Thus it is said. Also, in the Sutra Requested by Sagaramati, it says: O son of good family, furthermore, pure generosity is wisdom. Pure dedication is skillful means. Pure morality, patience, diligence, and meditation are wisdom. Pure dedication is skillful means. In short, all pure roots of virtue are wisdom. Pure dedication is skillful means. Thus it is said. Pure dedication, if divided into categories, becomes twelve: those with the aspect of non-objectification, those that are not inverted, in a secluded place, remembering the Buddha's teachings, skillful in means, without signs, following the Buddha, not discriminating the three realms. The dedication that produces great merit is also divided into three: small, medium, and large, making eleven in total, as taught in the Mother Sutra, but here it is not explained because it would become too extensive, since all are included in the dedication of the three doors of liberation. Such a root of virtue dedicated to non-objective enlightenment is said to be incomparable even to the vast roots of virtue with attachment. In the Mother Sutra it says: The Ganges of the ten directions of the world

In as many worlds as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, how many Buddhas, Bhagavat, reside with the Sangha of Shravakas, practicing and teaching the Dharma, Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, together with the Sangha of Shravakas, a son or daughter of noble family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, for as long as they live, offers with clothes, food, bedding, medicine, and many implements, and all comforts, honors, respects, and reveres them. And even after those Buddhas, Bhagavat, have completely passed into Nirvana, day and night with flowers, incense, garlands, perfumes, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, and many offerings, they make offerings to their relics, honor, respect, and revere them, practicing for this purpose, and with that as the goal, they give alms, with that as the goal, they keep vows, with that as the goal, they cultivate patience, with that as the goal, they exert diligence, with that as the goal, they enter into meditation, with that as the goal, they cultivate wisdom. Compared to that, a son or daughter of noble family, if they truly aspire to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, practicing the perfection of generosity without attachment, practicing the perfection of ethics without attachment, practicing the perfection of patience without attachment, practicing the perfection of diligence without attachment, practicing the perfection of meditation without attachment, practicing the perfection of wisdom without attachment, with skillful means dedicating those roots of virtue to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, then these accumulations of merit and accumulations of virtue, compared to the previous accumulation of merit, cannot even approach one part in a hundred, one part in a thousand, one part in a hundred thousand, one part in a billion, one part in a hundred billion.
