At the time of his passing, the king of men, having heard and listened to this King of the Golden Light Sutra, the supreme Dharma, would completely protect those monks who uphold this King of Sutras from those who oppose them. Completely protect, completely hold, and completely govern. Venerable One, Blessed One, we, the four great kings, will completely protect all sentient beings residing in all the lands of that king of men. Completely protect, completely grasp, completely govern, and transform them into peace and well-being. Venerable One, Blessed One, whenever the king of men, whether it be a monk, a nun, or a female lay practitioner, bestows happiness upon all those who uphold the King of Sutras, Venerable One, Blessed One, we, the four great kings, will bestow happiness upon all sentient beings residing in all the lands of that king of men with all the means of happiness, and make all means fully complete. Venerable One, Blessed One, whenever the king of men respects, regards as a guru, serves, and makes offerings to a monk, a nun, a male lay practitioner, or a female lay practitioner who upholds this King of Sutras, then, Venerable One, Blessed One, we, the four great kings, will respect that king of men more than all kings, regard him more as a guru, serve him more, make offerings to him more, and also greatly praise him in all lands. Thus, and so on, it was extensively spoken. Second is the order of dedication and aspiration. The nature of dedication, the necessary reasons for dedication, the manner of how to dedicate, the actual verses of dedication and aspiration. First, regarding the nature of dedication, the meaning of the word, and the three divisions. The first is: all things belonging to the virtuous deeds of the world and beyond, for the sake of complete purification in the state of complete non-abiding nirvana, the mind of intention and consciousness, together with its seeds, transformed completely by the power of wisdom. Thus, in the Ornament for Clear Realization, it is said: Complete dedication is most excellent, this is the supreme act. Thus it is. The meaning of the word is parinata, which means to completely transform or completely increase, that is to say, to transform the roots of virtue of the worldly path into the

It is said so that the roots of virtue that are transformed into virtue or exhausted or destroyed by other causes may increase inexhaustibly. Thirdly, there are two divisions: the completely impure and the pure. The first is: In the Mother Sutra, it says: If a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, while practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, fully understands the roots of virtue of those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, in terms of signs, then it is not a dedication to the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. All the past Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are also not signs, nor are they the realm of signs. If one thinks like that, it is still clinging to signs, and it is not dedicating those roots of virtue to the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. In that way, his perception will be reversed, his mind will be reversed, and his view will be reversed. It also says: The Tathagatas, the Arhats, the Perfectly Enlightened Ones, have not said that dedicating with the perception of an object and the perception of a sign is meaningful. Why is that? Because dedication is poisonous, it has thorns. For example, food is good, the color is good, the smell is good, but if it is mixed with poison, even if the color, smell, and taste are pleasant, it will eventually be poisonous. In this situation, a person with the nature of a child, a person with unstable wisdom, will think that it can be eaten. Even if he eats it, he will feel that the color, smell, and taste are good, but it will turn into suffering and the ripening of suffering. Similarly, for those who misunderstand, misperceive, mislearn, or do not understand the meaning, they will say this: Son of good family, you, from the initial generation of the mind of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the past, future, and present, up to the roots of virtue that have arisen, are arising, and will arise in the continuum of sentient beings, gather all those roots of virtue, unify them, measure them, and dedicate them to the Unsurpassed Perfect
