Those Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas, cause sentient beings as numerous as the dust of the ocean of beings, immeasurable even by the number of dust particles, to enter the path of omniscience, abide in omniscience, and to accomplish omniscience, through the immeasurable activities of skillful means, they properly accomplish the filling, shaping, and painting of the supports of the body, speech, and mind of the Tathagatas, and regard them as fields of merit, the benefits and virtues of which are immeasurable, as stated in all the sutras and tantras. In particular, the Dharmakaya of the Sugatas is encompassed by the two aspects of what is to be explained and what explains, the former being the aspect of peaceful Nirvana, which is none other than the scriptures that abide in what is to be explained. Therefore, the merit of writing, holding, reciting, and mastering the holy Dharma, and of offering, honoring, serving, and remembering it, is said in the sutras to be incomparable to other meritorious deeds. For example, in the Hundred Thousand Verses of the Mother: "Sons or daughters of good family, after the Tathagata has passed into Nirvana, if any son or daughter of good family, after the Tathagata has passed into Nirvana, in order to make offerings, fills the three thousand great thousand worlds with the seven precious jewels, builds a stupa one yojana high and half a yojana wide, and offers to it heavenly flowers, heavenly garlands, heavenly incense, heavenly unguents, heavenly powders, heavenly Dharma robes, heavenly garments, heavenly umbrellas, heavenly banners, heavenly streamers, and many heavenly musical instruments for as long as they live, with reverence, respect, homage, and offerings. कौशिका (Sanskrit Devanagari, Kauśika, Sanskrit Romanization, Kauśika, Chinese literal meaning: कौशिका), what do you think? Does the merit of that son or daughter of good family increase greatly?" Indra asked: "Bhagavan, it is great. Sugata, it is great." The Bhagavan said: " कौशिका (Sanskrit Devanagari, Kauśika, Sanskrit Romanization, Kauśika, Chinese literal meaning: कौशिका), even more so, if any son or daughter of good family holds this Prajnaparamita."

Furthermore, one who holds, recites, comprehends, and properly contemplates, and makes offerings with flowers, garlands, incense, ointments, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, streamers, and various musical instruments, respects, honors, and reveres it, then the merit will greatly increase. Kausika, let alone the fact that the three thousand great thousand worlds are filled with stupas of the Tathagata. Kausika, in the three thousand great thousand worlds, however many sentient beings there are, each of those sentient beings, for the sake of making offerings after the complete Nirvana of the Tathagata, with stupas made of the seven precious jewels, one yojana in height and half a yojana in width, to those, for as long as they live, with divine flowers, divine garlands, divine incense, divine ointments, divine powders, divine Dharma robes, divine clothes, divine umbrellas, divine banners, divine streamers, and many divine musical instruments, makes offerings, respects, honors, and reveres. It is better than any son or daughter of a family who writes, holds, grasps, recites, comprehends, and properly contemplates this Perfection of Wisdom, without ever separating from the mind of omniscience, and makes offerings to it with flowers, garlands, incense, ointments, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, streamers, and various musical instruments, respects, honors, and reveres it, then that merit will increase even more. Indra requested: Blessed One, it is so. Sugata, it is so. Blessed One, by making offerings, respecting, honoring, and revering the Perfection of Wisdom, one will be making offerings, respecting, honoring, and revering all the Tathagatas, Arhats, and Perfectly Awakened Ones who have appeared in the past, will appear in the future, and are appearing in the present.

Sapa and others have extensively explained this. In its commentary, Master Simhabhadra says, "The main thing is that the Tathagata of the Dharmakaya is the Prajnaparamita. Therefore, if you make offerings to the mother of the Buddhas who teaches this, you will generate much merit because you are making offerings to the Dharmakaya of the omniscient wisdom. If you make offerings to the Tathagata of form, you will not generate much merit because it does not include the particularly excellent Dharmakaya." It is taught that writing and making offerings generates much merit. To show that it is the same when asking questions, it is also said, "Son of good family," and so on. This is explained in detail. In the Condensed Verses, it is also said: "Some people, after the Sugata has completely passed into nirvana, build stupas made of the seven precious substances and make offerings. Those stupas of the Sugata fill thousands of billions of lands with grains of sand from the Ganges. If you completely examine and hold countless billions of lands, and all the sentient beings dwelling therein do nothing else but offer divine flowers, excellent incense, and unguents for three times or more, then if someone writes this mother of the Sugatas, from whom the ten powers of the guide arise, on a scroll, holds it, and cherishes it with flowers and unguents, the merit of making offerings to stupas cannot compare to it." It also says: "Some people, in lands with as many grains of sand as the Ganges River, have tamed all the sentient beings dwelling there into Arhats. If someone writes this Prajnaparamita and gives the scroll to excellent sentient beings, their merit will be particularly superior. Why? Because those lords of speech, having learned here, teach here that all dharmas are emptiness. Hearing this, the Shravakas quickly attain the path of liberation, and also attain Pratyekabuddha enlightenment and Buddha enlightenment." Thus it is said. Similarly, even the benefits of merely hearing, teaching, and holding even a single aspect of the profound Dharma cannot be exhausted. In the Sutra Requested by Sagaramati, it says: "Filling this great thousandfold world system with gold and offering it to the Sugatas is less than someone who...
