It is extremely regrettable to disrupt the tantras, distort the scriptures, and modify the great Vajra places of concealed instructions with speculative views, without ascertaining their meaning, based solely on the appearance of speculative reasoning that is not truly realized and the fact that a portion of the words can be examined for a while, because this will cause the blessings of the meaning to diminish. Even so, when the earlier translations of the Nyingma tantras were first translated, the Tibetans' understanding of Buddhist terminology was very narrow, communication between translators and scholars was difficult, and there was a great need to create many new, previously unknown terms. Therefore, the great emanation translators, who resided in the state of the noble ones, measured the fundamental meaning of the scriptures with the great wisdom of the noble ones, abandoning all embellishments such as whether the words were pleasing or not, and focused on ease of understanding, translating them into local dialects and familiar names and terms. For example, for the meaning of "eternal," they used Bon terms such as "Yungdrung" and "Gyasang," which shows that they focused solely on the translation of meaning. Moreover, since Buddhism spread to China earlier than to Tibet, before that time, Lhatsunpo also invited Chinese Khenpos such as Mahayana and translated some Dharma. Therefore, it can be inferred that they were proficient in Chinese, so in translation, sometimes Chinese was mixed with other languages, such as using the languages of "Hashang" (Chinese: 和尚, monk) and "Barnai" (Sanskrit: Varanasi, modern Varanasi, India), which shows their greatness in not being confused by languages, and there were other necessities as well. The three sections of Yoga translated in this way were extremely secret and hidden for a long time, so the translators and scholars who divided the chapters by the second volume of Sound Combination (sgra sbyor bam po gnyis pa) were not affected by the new terminology. Since the essence of the meaning has no defilement, there is no need to consider whether the expression is beautiful or not, or whether the words are strict or not, because the Buddha's intention is to rely on the meaning itself. Therefore, accomplishment is achieved through faith in mantra and devotion to meaning, as can be seen from the history of Sakya Pandita and Andar Charwa. For these reasons, many people have effortlessly attained the two siddhis by relying on the path of the Nyingma tantras, and the river of blessings has not dried up, and its lineage has never declined in various regions and remote areas.

Regarding what is contained therein, in terms of wording, due to the fact that most of the previous terms and Buddhist terms are not popular nowadays, and it is uncertain whether ancient languages and various dialects are applicable, there are many difficult-to-understand points. Moreover, the subsequent transmission of texts inevitably cannot exceed the discriminating minds of ordinary people. Therefore, even fair-minded individuals will make many mistakes due to writing errors and confused wording. On this basis, many contents have been gradually added, making the extremely impure transmission lack scholarly review and cataloging of the meaning of the words by previous scholars. Due to these deficiencies, there are numerous errors in the text, rampant writing mistakes, and many missing words and sentences that are difficult to determine whether they are slips of the pen or other reasons. There are also many cases of chapters and sections being reversed, and the influence of dialects, etc., with tolerable and intolerable situations that are simply indescribable. Therefore, almost all of the tantric scriptures in this area have become the same, making it very difficult to eliminate the errors that cause doubt. The manuscript of the Dalai Hutuktu is sometimes slightly more accurate, so it is helpful. Most of the missing one to five or six words and sentences, as well as missing sentences, etc., are supplemented from here. The missing parts are supplemented by referring to the context, and also extracted from other related tantras. The reversed chapter order is straightened out. The chapter numbers and topics that are confused and missing are also corrected by referring to their context. The inconsistent general outlines and specific contents are also adjusted to make them consistent. The commentaries on Guhyasamāja, Samputa, and Śrīparamādya, etc., by teachers Viśvāmitra, Brgya byin sdong po, Kun dga' snying po, etc., are very consistent with the old translations, so they were corrected and finalized accordingly. The seventeen tantras were proofread according to the meaning of the Mahāyānakośa. The Yamāntaka fire-wind offering ritual is confused, as well as the Yangdag Peaceful and Wrathful Hundred Tantras, Nectar Whirlpool, and Nectar Arising Tantras, etc., as mentioned below, because there is only one copy of each, there is no object to refer to, and many places are originally incorrect.
