These are the five aggregates that are appropriated. The latter are: the bodies and wisdom realms of the utterly pure Buddhas, etc. The former arise from other causes and conditions of karma and habit, while the latter arise from the cause of the power of freedom from obscurations, hence the name. The perfectly established also has two aspects: immutable and non-inverted. The former is: the meaning of reality, that is, the immutable, self-luminous essence of the dharmadhatu. As it is said in the Ornament of Dense Array Sutra: "The essence is the basis of all, and is the most excellent of distinctions." Therefore, above it, as the root of all afflictions, the undifferentiated ignorance, the unindicated consciousness, is the alaya of all seeds, which is free from conceptualization and does not grasp at objects. From it arise the five sense consciousnesses, and the mind consciousness that arises after them, which takes external and internal meanings as its objects. By examining this, whatever arises from any of the three: attachment, aversion, or indifference, whether it is the three poisons or the five poisons, is the arising afflicted mind. The non-inverted perfectly established refers to the fact that the uncontaminated path has reached its culmination, and from the supreme alaya of the fruition, the afflictions and their imprints are completely purified, so that the essence itself is manifested without inversion. The tenets of the Mind-Only school can be divided into: Mind-Only True and Mind-Only False. The former asserts that, just as when the eye consciousness grasps blue, the blue appears as blue, it is established. The latter, however, believes that all appearances such as blue do not exist in the nature of either object or mind, but are falsely imputed due to the habits of ignorance, and therefore appear as such. It is a consciousness that is defiled by the ignorance of the mind, and is not different from matter. The latter is slightly superior to the former. Distinguishing it, there are those who say that the number of the grasper and the grasped are equal, the manifold is non-dual, half an egg, etc., and they are distinguished by the two objects of consciousness. In the Mind-Only False, the nature of the mind is divided into two types: defiled and undefiled by the imprints of ignorance. Among those who say that the number of the grasper and the grasped are equal, there are those who say that there are eight aggregates of consciousness and those who say that there are six aggregates. Among those who say that the manifold is non-dual, there are those who believe in six aggregates and those who believe in only one consciousness, etc. The ways of distinguishing are endless, and this school is for the Hearers and Solitary Realizers.

Although slightly superior, it does not realize the perfected nature and ultimate truth as they are. With the two aspects of conventional truth and false truth, although it realizes that external phenomena are unreal, it affirms that the non-dual awareness, self-knowing and self-illuminating, is ultimately true and perfected. Secondly, Madhyamaka (Middle Way) is also divided into: the coarse outer Madhyamaka, which speaks of no self-nature, and the subtle inner definitive meaning, the Great Madhyamaka. The first is further divided into Svatantrika Madhyamaka (Independent Syllogism Madhyamaka) and Prasangika (Consequentialist) Madhyamaka. The first is: because the tenets of Vaibhashika, Sautrantika, and Chittamatra all fall into the extreme of clinging to substantiality, they cannot turn back from the proliferation of clinging and attachment. Here, since it is acknowledged that all phenomena do not fall into any of the two extremes, it is the Middle Way. That is, all phenomena exist in the conventional, deluded consciousness, and in the ultimate, they do not exist in the non-deluded awareness and wisdom. This is the view of Svatantrika Madhyamaka. If the former is divided, there are the correct conventional, which appears and can perform a function, and the false conventional, which appears but cannot perform a function. In the ultimate truth, there are also the various types that cut off one aspect of elaboration, such as the sprout not arising from itself, and the non-various ultimate truth that cuts off the four extremes of elaboration, such as the sprout not arising from itself, nor from others. Its definition is: that which can be refuted by discriminating wisdom is the unanalyzable conventional; that which cannot be refuted by wisdom is the analyzable, which is the definition of ultimate truth. Thus, in order to realize that all appearances of phenomena in conventional truth are non-existent where there is nothing to be refuted, that is, to know non-existence as the absence of true existence, therefore, both the external object and the substantiality of consciousness are empty, and it only acknowledges a mere awareness that does not distinguish between existence and non-existence. As it is said in the commentary: "By the wisdom of each individual's own awareness." And the wisdom that refutes the object to be refuted is also: the Vajra Splinters that analyze the cause, the existence and non-existence of arising and ceasing that analyze the result, the four possibilities of arising and ceasing that analyze both, the Great Interdependence that establishes a non-affirming reason, the non-affirming reason that establishes the separation from one and many, and so on. What is established by reason and logic is thoroughly examined, such as illusion.
