Because they are never the same as others, they endure hardships in the great holy places of U-Tsang (U: the area around present-day Lhasa, Tsang: the area around Shigatse), performing prostrations and circumambulations, purifying their body, speech, and mind through confession, and accumulating vast amounts of merit through material offerings. Furthermore, they construct supports for body, speech, and mind, and they are happy to give food, clothing, bedding, mats, medicine, and utensils to practitioners, the hungry, the poor, the sick, relatives, friends, and those who live by begging, without any reluctance. They have good faith, good intentions, are dedicated to benefiting themselves and others, possess compassion, desire the Dharma, and have love for all beings. They do not abandon the good conduct of this special lineage, and therefore they ascend to the throne. As it is said in the Dashabhumika Sutra: "Bodhisattvas who abide in the first bhumi mostly become rulers of Jambudvipa, fully obtain dominion over great freedom, protect the Dharma, and become the leaders in gathering beings through great generosity. They are skilled in removing the stains of miserliness from beings and are never weary of engaging in great generosity. Whether it is giving, kind speech, beneficial action, or acting in accordance with the Dharma, whatever activity they engage in, they always remember the Buddha, remember the Dharma, remember the Sangha, remember the Bodhisattvas, and they never separate from the remembrance of the all-knowing wisdom that possesses all kinds of excellence and perfection. In this way, they become the most excellent, the most important, and the most outstanding of all beings." Just as it is said in the sutra, in the sacred land of India, King Ashoka offered one hundred million gold coins to each member of the Sangha on earth, and he offered the kingdom to the Sangha without any hesitation. In the snowy land of Tibet, Dharma King Tri Ralpachen first offered the first portion to the Sangha, the second to the king, and the third to the ministers. Furthermore, he offered seven households of subjects for each ordained monk, and so on. The ways in which they served and entertained, as well as their lineage, appearance, youth, courage, decisiveness, strength and power, wealth, fame, authority, and enjoyment.

, the abundance of retinue and so on, the worldly prosperity is not entirely happiness, but only the cause of suffering. It is changeable, impermanent, alternating between prosperity and decline, with intervals of birth and death, and without any essence. Our teacher taught in all ways. Seeing and realizing these, with renunciation urging the mind, cutting off all bonds of stinginess, turning away from the place of non-merit, rejoicing in entering the state of peace and nirvana. As it is said in the advice to friends: Stinginess, deceit, attachment and laziness, as well as arrogance, greed, hatred, race, appearance, learning and youth, the pride of great power, regard as enemies. As it is widely said, like the past Bodhisattvas after completely purifying their behavior, the mind is humble, even if they have obtained a high position, they will not be very proud and arrogant, they will not be disrespectful to those who deserve respect, the mind is very subdued, dwelling in a state that seems humble, and will not despise the behavior of the saints. As Nagarjuna said: Although young, he likes to be close to the elderly, although he is proficient, he has no arrogance of knowledge, although he is majestic, he is in patience and humility, although he has reached the peak of the monarch, he has no arrogance and arrogance. And, the scholar Matichitra said: The places that make you happy, the youth that makes you proud, doing things as you please, are all meaningless paths, cut off those three causes of destruction, the wise should rely on the saints, with the power of subduing the senses and wisdom, hide the light and act. As it is said. Rather than becoming very rich and prosperous due to the accumulation of wealth, building a vast and varied support for body, speech and mind, all of which are pure and complete in lineage, temples, newly built monasteries, repairing those that are damaged, gatherings of the Sangha, only used to offer to the Three Jewels, and in many lifetimes, the retribution for not giving and stealing, the giving Rakshasa who is an enemy to the wealth and lives of sentient beings, transformed into human form all over the place.

He also skillfully arranged to benefit even the wicked by giving them what they needed and speaking sweet words. To the sick, the old, the poor, and the hungry, he gave medicine, food, clothing, bedding, and necessities, exhausting the causes of ripening good karma, and was accustomed to extending a long hand of generosity. As it is said in the Vinaya-mūla-rāja-Nanda-bhadraka-avadāna: "Among gods and humans, having seen my wealth, who would not give with whatever is perfect? Who can suppress hundreds of thousands of beings, subdue stinginess as an enemy, and give out of fear of the next life? I think that is the greatest of heroes. Those who enter the battlefield with weapons in their hands, the Buddhas say they are not heroes. Those who give without fear, the all-knowing ones say they are heroes." And as it is said in the Letter to King Chandra: "When a king is wealthy, he should spend and give from that time on, and bury it as a treasure with complete dedication. One thing in this life is better than countless others. When one is burned by stinginess and poverty after death, what should one do?" Thus, he did not excessively crave accumulation, but like the ancient festivals of the great Sakya rulers, he added various new things to all the old and new monasteries, and offered funds for practice and offerings on special dates in all monasteries, large and small, new and old, without discrimination. Every year, he offered wealth in accordance with the Dharma to many Vajradharas, mainly monks who were accustomed to profound yoga, and allowed them to accumulate numerous supreme deities only within the scope of root mantras and retreats. He himself also had a daily schedule of practice and recitation of the generation and completion stages of many supreme deities, such as the root three of the Kagyu and Nyingma schools without discrimination, and regularly performed tsok and torma offerings on the tenth and twenty-fifth days of each month, without being distracted by affairs of state, and was always accustomed to the yoga of renunciation, loving-kindness, compassion, and the profound reality of Suchness.
