Listen to my words. In general, the Great Fifth Dalai Lama came into being when the time was ripe for his aspiration and prayer to once again increase the happiness and well-being of the Tibetan people. He served all the teachings and Dharma wheels of all schools in this snowy land (Tibet) with utmost diligence. In particular, in the area of the Secret Mantra Early Translation School, because he possessed the sharp wisdom to understand the profound reasons and followed in the footsteps of the Dharma, the mere enumeration of his hearings and receptions of teachings amounted to three volumes. He also thoroughly refuted those who spoke falsely with logical debates, as is clear in the fourth volume of the hearing records, which are like the Ganges River, in the section on the Old Tantras. Similarly, regarding the Nyingma Treasure teachings, it is said that in ancient India, the tantras brought forth by the accomplished masters Saraha, Garab Dorje, Virupa, Hayagriva, Nagarjuna, Padmasambhava, Tso Kyepa, Rolpai Dorje, Chod Chang Wangpo, etc., are in essence treasure teachings, because their meaning is explained as something hidden that is temporarily not visible to the senses. Therefore, the letter tantras that represent meaning, because a suitable vessel for the teachings was not seen for a time, were expanded in the invisible realm and guarded and cherished by the dakinis. Those accomplished beings were prophesied by the supreme deities, and when the time was ripe, in the great mantra palaces such as Dharma Ganj in Oddiyana (Uḍḍiyāna), the assembly of dakinis bestowed blessings, empowerments, unlocked the seals, and gave the tantric scriptures. Then they practiced them themselves and also showed them slightly to other worthy disciples. Similarly, as for Tibet, all the masters foresaw how the beings to be tamed in the future would appear, and therefore, from the profound and vast tantras, they created methods of practice that fulfilled the conditions of the path, such as sadhanas, karmas, and instructions, and wrote them on yellow paper, entrusting them to various treasure lords such as mountain spirits, rock spirits, and yaksha lakes, with the prayer seal that "in the future, may this be obtained by the fortunate person who is destined to possess it," and hid them invisibly. Later, the fortunate

For the fortunate ones, the power of aspiration matures, and the signs and prophecies converge. The great teacher personally appears and bestows empowerment. The symbolic wisdom is increased, and relying on the encouragement that includes the seal of entrustment and prophecies, the treasure lords and protectors are subdued by oath and asceticism, and various treasures of Dharma and wealth fall into the hands of the treasure revealer, thereby greatly accomplishing the benefit of the teachings and sentient beings, which is one great aspect of the activity of the Victorious Ones. As it is said in the "Samadhi Sutra of the Noble One Who Gathers All Merits": "Immaculate splendor, Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas who desire the Dharma, those who are endowed with excellent intention and respect, even if they reside in other world realms, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, will show their faces and also hear the Dharma. The Dharma treasures of the Immaculate splendor, Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas who desire the Dharma, are placed in mountains, valleys, and trees. Dharanis (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) and scriptures made into volumes with limitless Dharma gates will also be obtained. Immaculate splendor, the gods who have seen the Buddhas in the past will help the Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas who desire the Dharma to increase their wisdom. Immaculate splendor, even if the Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas who desire the Dharma are at the end of their lives, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and the gods will help them increase their life and power. By the blessings of the Buddha and the blessings of the gods, if they wish, they can even remain for a thousand years." Thus it is said. And in the "Sutra of Gathering the True Dharma" it is said: "Ananda, in order to fully establish the Dharma, if these categories of Dharma are written on scrolls and buried as treasures and then offered, then he will obtain ten benefits. Which ten? Obtaining the eye of the Buddha, thereby obtaining the treasure of seeing the Buddha; obtaining the ear of the gods, thereby obtaining the treasure of hearing the Dharma; obtaining non-retrogression, thereby obtaining the treasure of hearing the Sangha, thereby obtaining the treasure of seeing the Sangha; obtaining the hand of jewels, thereby obtaining the inexhaustible treasure; obtaining the treasure of a body endowed with excellent marks and signs; obtaining an inseparable attendant, thereby obtaining the treasure of attendants; wisdom.
