Both are pure, diligent in wisdom and effort, becoming skillful in means, truly great accomplishment, and the vast activities of the Buddha. Therefore, possessing the seven greatnesses, it is definitely called the Mahayana. Such a distinguished Mahayana can be divided into two: for those with dull faculties among the beings to be tamed, who are inclined to use the ground as the path, it is called the Paramitayana; for those with sharp faculties, who are inclined to use the result as the path, it is called the Vajrayana. As stated in the Sutra Collection of Thoughts: "There are three vehicles of guidance. If they are arranged in order, practicing without acceptance or rejection with equanimity, not seeking enlightenment from elsewhere, this is the definitive vehicle of immeasurable excellent means." Here, the secret mantra Vajrayana is specifically explained, mainly in two aspects: first, to explain its superiority over the causal vehicle; second, to elaborate on the unique characteristics of the secret mantra itself. First, it is divided into two parts: one is a general summary of the common views of various schools on the secret mantra, and the other is a detailed explanation according to the view of the Second Buddha, Omniscient Speech Master. First, in the Mahayana that surpasses the Hinayana, this vehicle is renowned for its excellent means of not abandoning the basis but transforming it into the path. It can effortlessly and quickly achieve the unsurpassed enlightenment for the benefit of others. The famous discussion in the "Three Kinds of Lamps" has fully explained this, so there is no need to elaborate. Second, from the perspective of essence, its view only expresses emptiness free from elaboration in language. In reality, it has not truly realized the inseparability of the two truths from the beginning, and the inherent nature of Buddha and mantra. In the mantra, even the conventional truth does not exist. It only regards appearance as illusion and purifies it into the deity. From the perspective of the ultimate truth, it realizes the state of the dharmadhatu and wisdom being inherently present, naturally accomplished, and without self-nature. As stated in the "Illusion Path Stages": "Ultimate and conventional are not different, it is the great equal mandala." Its conduct also has essence, which includes acceptance and rejection. In the mantra, starting from the nature of appearance and emptiness as illusion, and the state of the deity and palace, offering to the deity through the gathering of assemblies, conforming to the nature of reality, and purifying afflictions, etc., thereby achieving supreme accomplishment. In terms of meditation, its essence includes both shamatha and vipassana.

Observing what is seen, etc., one must strive with the difficulty of holding the mind. In this mantra, the accumulation of merit is completed by the generation stage with signs, and after the pacification of elaboration, the wisdom accumulation is used by the completion stage without signs, and the nature of reality is quickly shown without confusing the key points of the root winds, so it is superior. The cause also depends on the conventional truth of what is produced and what can be produced in the name and form. In the mantra, the pure one, the wisdom of one's own abode, is forcibly introduced without acceptance or rejection, and then meditated upon, so it is superior because of the key to realizing the ultimate meaning. The path is also in name and form. The two accumulations are alternately placed in equal succession, so it is the object of travel for the number of kalpas. In the mantra, if one enters the path of inseparable and unconfused wisdom, one will travel quickly, so it is superior. The result is also in name and form, and one dares to be confident in the future. In the mantra, it is now desired to be spontaneously accomplished and self-abiding, so it is superior. Similarly, in name and form, there are eleven stages of abandonment and realization. In the mantra, the result is the three great purities. Regarding the intention of time, the prophecy says: Extremely countless kalpas, all that the Buddhas know, mantra practitioners at one time, one sentence completes enlightenment. Like this. Regarding enjoyment, one practices asceticism in name and form, while the mantra says in the Vajra Arrangement: The five kinds of enjoyment of desire, the supreme friend of the expedient mantra. Like this. Regarding yoga, in name and form, samadhi is space, and after attainment, illusion is the path, with objects. In the mantra, the great spontaneous accomplishment beyond thought is the path, and in the work of benefiting oneself and others, in name and form, there are few doors for expedient thought. In the mantra, rain is brought down to cut off famine, and accomplished yogis bring down rain of food, drink, wealth, etc., as well as freedom, pacifying diseases and wars, etc., only making the country and city auspicious. What is needed is also, in name and form, only the result is produced from the cause, in the mantra, the secret of the mind is the path, and so are speech and body, and there is nothing difficult to do. From the early translation of the Horse Supreme Pride Subduing Tantra: This secret mantra of the Great Vehicle of Result, is extremely different because of its difference, with many expedients and no difficulties.
